Lipo coils?

My new mod will be arriving soon I have some questions

I'm trying to figure out the min resistance coil I can use safely on a 10Ah cell 100C rating? The company owner said no less than .3 but my calculations show I can go much lower.

This is how I calculate for a normal 21700

Voltage: 8.4 Max amps of mod: 60A Increase resistance

8.4v / 60A = .14 ohms min

side quest anyone can answer me what is the total amps output for a HOGXL @ 35A/cell. Back to this

Calculations for this battery:

100C * 10Ah = 1000A 14.8v/1000A = .014 ohms

Something's doesn't seem right about this. Any ideas?

Say l use a .1 coil. 14.8.1= 148A < 1000A is this right?

If you're getting this mod from JDMods then I would listen to Joe's advice and keep your builds to 0.3 ohms or higher. This is a 4S 10000mAh lipo battery and I assume that you have a PWM chip inside! We have many members at JDMods that vape at very very high wattages(350+) and I guarantee you that they keep their builds higher than 0.3 ohms. If your chip is a regulated dna chip then it's a different story.

Ok will do. At .3 the wattage is limited to about 750. Believe it or not that is not enough for the vapergate Colorado with 8 coils. Using an online calculator for ramp up time. Real world results may vary. If the flow of electrons is limited because of the coils resistance then applied wattage is dependent on the voltage. So the only thing I could do is increase the voltage to 22.2 v 6s lipo and start over. i don’t wanna have to do that cuz this mod is already big af but I did not consider all these variables until now

My calculator is telling me I need 1000 watts to ramp up 8 coils to 400 degrees C in .3 seconds

If I use Nichrome instead of Kanthal I can get the same results with 670W so I have ordered both

There's a couple of guys in JDMods that use a Colorado RDA often. I know one likes to keep his wattage at around the 700 watt range and the other I know of vapes much lower with his. Both run brilliant and chuck some pretty big clouds!!
You can always put a build in the Colorado with less than 8 coils if your taste desires.
Happy vaping Mate and I do hope that enjoy your new JDMod :thumb:

thanks bro. Joe says any lower and risk breaking the chip or venting the battery. I wasn’t gonna ask him where he got that info I’ll just follow what he says. With a mod this powerful it’s only purpose is for 8 coils imo
