I just got a new atomizer and battery a few days ago, and haven't really encountered this problem before with my other batteries and atomizers.

With this particular atomizer, liquid keeps leaking out from the little holes at the bottom that connect with the battery, I'm not sure if it's because it's a cheaper battery (I bought it on healthcabin, instead of innovapor this time) or if I'm doing something wrong, even though I'm using it the same as my others. I usually put a drop on the cotton and then put a drop or two on the atomizer directly, but I haven't had this problem before. Any suggestions? Thanks.

First it's likely the same battery - joye. Although you didn't say which model - that would help. Leakage is almost always a flooded atty or overfilling the cart. You can blow out the atty with your mouth from the thread end into a paper towel - blow forcefully but with mouth only. Also clean the threads and then make sure the threads are tight when you put it back together.

There are few other sources of leakage:
1. Thin juice. Johnson creek's juices have been reported here to be thin.
2. Some pyramid tea bag cartridge mods can leak, but since you said 'cotton' it isn't likely that.

Try blowing out the atty and make sure you don't over fill the cart - by the way, you should be able to get more than one drop on the filler/cotton on a top off. Perhaps the cotton is already supersaturated.

Saiden, I just experienced the same leakage recently on my 501. After discussions (search leakage between battery and atty in the new member forum for thread) I'm pretty sure it was most likely due to flooding the atomizer. I had been direct dripping 3-4 drops on the atty and when I reduced to 2 or 3 drops (on a "mostly full" cart) the leakage stopped. If you make sure your cart is not too full and you're not dripping too much on the atty, the leakage should be greatly reduced or eliminated altogether. Make sure the filler is moist, but no "pooling" of juice at the top when you top off and you should have no more leaking. Hope it helps...

Usually when i go to top off a cart even after using it for quite a while i can only put in one drop, but even then it pools at the top. The atomizer makes like a dent in the cotton, I'm pretty sure that's normal but yeah.

Next time you think you need to top it off, but it'll only take one drop before pooling, take a toothpick or unfolded end of a paperclip and sort of pull the filler away from one side for a few seconds. That'll allow any trapped air to get out and draw the liquid further into the cart. If the liquid is still pooled on top, then your cart really is full.

I'm still unfortunately having this problem. I add the liquid directly to the atomizer whenever it stops producing much vapor, and has a burnt taste which is what I believe is what you do. Could it just be a faulty atomizer? It works pretty alright, but the leaking is incredibly annoying.

I ordered two atomizers and two batteries from healthcabin and my friend got the other set, the only differences between his and mine are his battery is sealed, while mine is not but I haven't noticed anything different with that other than possible ruining of the battery. His atomizer doesn't leak, and his bat/aty are copper, not red like mine.

I've been thinking of just putting a piece of tape over the little holes, but I'm not sure if that's the best idea.

Don't tape it - you need those holes to allow you to draw air through the atomizer and inhale the vapor. Try fluffing up the cart filler with a toothpick, paperclip, safety pin, or whatever so that the material is not dented any more. Then make sure you line up the flat edges of the cart with the atomizer bridge so that the bridge fits in alignment with the cartridge edges. If you have a different alignment each time, it's possible that the atomizer bridge is not contacting the cart filler, which means no vapor even when the cart is full, so if you fill it when it's already full, you flood the atty and get that leakage... You want that metal atomizer bridge to touch the cart filler.

What model are you using?? I didn't see that you mentioned that.

Those holes are the intakes. If you cover them there is no flow - you'll be drawing nothing. The problem is there's too much fluid in the atomizer. Blow it out into a paper towel and try just filling the filler in the cart witout dripping into the atomizer at all. And you might try this mod:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/11421-cart-mod-better-refilling.html

I use a shaft to a J&Johnson safety swab and cut it 11/16's so the top of it is just below the cart top. Cut some of the filler off so there is a space at the floor of the cart for the mod to work it's wonders. You can also cut a bit of an angle on the top of the straw - not as diagonal - the idea is to keep it off the atty bridge. Also put it along the rounded side of the cartrirdge wall - furthest away from the bridge when you connect the cart. You should be able to vape just fine like that without dripping on the atty at all.
