I am sure about this and that's not the case. PayPal is shutting down all PV suppliers one by one.

And that is their prerogative. What sucks is that they can get away with freezing funds for 6 months unless you fight them tooth and nail.

Read the letter they're sending to suppliers and note the stance they're taking sounds like they got it from FDA talking points.

Any good supplier will have another convenient payment method quickly. What worries me more is how much longer the FDA will allow them to sell at all.
You guys have to remember that Paypal, like ALL internet entities, has no choice in the matter. When the GOVERNMENT a holes stand on you , you can squeel and wiggle but you STILL have this 2000 lbs gorilla on your ....
Whachu gonna do??? Go fight City Hall. Not likely. They have stock holders n such to think about.
Like the guy says.... Just my 2 cents worth.

Nobody is telling PayPal not to let people withdraw their balances. They aren't just cutting people off, they are freezing their funds (usually for 1 year). PayPal pretends to be a bank and is not one. They are just a bunch of crooks in my opinion.

Paypal/eBay is a very left wing company. I'm not surprised about their actions. I wonder why they are attacking some vendors and not others. eBay is so anti-gun that you cannot put any product picture in your listing that contains a gun. You can sell a gun case, you just better not show a picture of the gun case containing a gun. This shows their charactor and a trend.

I wonder if they're only shutting down the suppliers that are not registered with the Secretary of State as a corporation, thus most likely hiding income from the IRS and State governments. Maybe they leave suppliers alone that have legitimate businesses that are incorporated like they should be. Just a hunch, any thoughts?
Nothing says that a business has to Incorporate, and they definitely do not have to be a corporation or an LLC or anything of that nature to be a legitimate business. That's a big misconception and quite honestly a rude assumption.

That being said, being a corporation or LLC also doesn't guarantee that they are a legitimate business. I had a guy one time apply for a merchant account with a valid corporation... trying to sell POT 8-o Getting a corporation or LLC is "so easy a caveman can do it" :p

paypal has the option to click on that says send money to someone. Why couldn't a person contact someone that sells e cigs, and let them know what they want, (like an order) and then let that person tell them their email or paypal name and then, just send money to that person. That way there would be no site name used, or anything. It would just be like sending money to a friend. LOL ! A vaping friend. If paypal asked what it was for or something, you could put gift or bill, etc. Just a question.... would that work? or no?

As long as the vendor hasn't had their PayPal account suspended, yes it would work, and, in fact, that was how a few vendors that I've dealt with in the past did utilize Paypal. The problem here is that once the vendors "sellers account" has been suspended/restricted, there is no valid account to send the money.

I would then start a new account under different id or email account.

In order to obtain a verified sellers account on PayPal, you have to provide them with info(i.e. Bank account, SS#, EIN#, etc...) much more personally identifiable then just a new email or id. There is no way you would be able to get away with it without them knowing it was you or your business.

in the suppliers private forum they seem to restrict the sellers account for selling "prescribed" drugs..

all it takes to get the account opened again is to remove the paypal link to the prescribed drugs.. this has been done in a matter of hours by some..

so the freezing of funds for a long time is mostly boll-cks.. as soon as the seller stops selling e cigs via paypal the account becomes unrestricted..

the seller then has to find alternative methods to sell their e cigs..

i assume nicotine is the prescribed drug but dont know much about US laws..

it seems paypal are taking the same stance as they would if the seller was really selling pot...

Under the Acceptable Use Policy, you may not use PayPal for the sale of prescription drugs that violate applicable laws or industry regulations or for products that present a risk to consumer safety. PayPal considers the marketing of a product and may restrict transactions for products marketed to act like or function the same as a prescription drug.
PayPal also may restrict transactions for recalled drugs, unapproved drugs and dietary supplements that have been banned by governmental agencies."

However our products do not fall in any of these categories. As nicotine is not an unapproved drug nor are they banned by governmental agencies.
According to the FDA its an unapproved drug delivery device.

The bottom line is, unfortunately, that Paypal can refuse anyone's business, and can get away with freezing accounts pretty much at will. Their freezing of accounts has been a problem for a long time. Paypal isn't a bank, so isn't subject to federal banking regulations. Lawsuits on behalf of customers haven't gone well. For example, one class action suit was dismissed, another suit was settled, but it left Paypal free to continue without restrictions. So, they continue to freeze accounts and pocket the interest while the account is frozen.

Personally, I use Paypal as a necessary evil, but have never used it as my 'bank'. Money goes in as needed for transactions, comes out as soon as I get notice of payments, and then is transferred out of my linked account just as soon as it gets there. It's a pain in the .....

I wish you luck with getting your funds back quickly.

I too use Paypal because I sell on eBay. They have outlawed non-electronic payment methods. So, I'm stuck and I have to use them. I don't sell enough on eBay to justify getting a merchant account. I gave up my merchant accounts because they cost about $40.00 every month each whether you use them or not. I no longer have an ecommerce web site.

Paypal isn't a bank, they just play one on the internet.
