How long do the tanks last?

How long do the atomizers last?

How much time is involved in maintaining one of these?

What kinds of issues have people had with these?

I have been trying to avoid getting one since I am trying to simplify my gear and don't want yet another charger but there does seem to be a lot of positives to the eRoll.

For me, each tank contains enough juice to last about as long as 2 or 3 stinkies. In terms of wear and tear they last until I throw them out because the (mouth end) end caps get a bit loose. I guess thats 3 months or so.

I use a set of 9, 2 in the cigs and 7 in a tin. I fill them last thing every night, every 2 weeks or so I swap them for another set and wash them and replace the (battery end) end caps.

I've found the atomizers last ages, I guess 3 months or so.

After about 3 month use the small batteries start running out quicker, I swapped my big battery after 6 months, it was starting to run out mid evening instead of last thing at night.

I spend about 10 mins at the end of each day refilling them (needle bottles are best, the tank is very small and its easy to get a bubble in there that stops them filling) and wiping them down with a bit of kitchen towel. The fortnightly clean takes about 10 mins, I rinse in hot water an a very little washing up liquid, soak, then soak in surgical spirit, then clean hot water, then leave to dry. I'm really not sure if the spirit is really needed, also it does leave a bit of a taste. I may skip it next time.

The biggest issue I've had is trying to fill from a bottle with a plastic wide-ish needle tip, I got some bottle caps with metal tips and filling is much easier.

If you want to chain vape for more than 20 mins, you may find them frustrating, I got an ego-CC for just those situations.

Overall, great for hands free, vape miles better than cigalikes, fells good clamped in gob. OK but not brilliant for extended vape sessions. Bit of a faff keeping the tanks clean, not sure if you really need to, but I just feel some things going to breed in there if you don't.

You will have to replace batteries of both sorts and buy tanks and end caps, but still loads cheaper than burning leaves.

Sometime leaks a very tiny bit, not enough to be a problem unless you put them in tight white trouser pockets.

Thanks,

I do have large devices I use 90% of the time. I use cigalikes from when I want hands free vaping.

How do you compare this to KR808 and 501 cigalikes. You say it is miles better, can you compare?

Tons more vapor, you don't need to break it down for charging (a HUGE plus), feels lighter than most, and sleeker design than most.

My cigalikes were a UK brand - VIP I should imagine a rebranded generic but don't know what. The taste and throat hit are somewhere between an the EVOD and an F17 carto tank.

I have an eRoll setting in a shopping cart now.

I just have a couple of more questions.

1. I understand that the juice used in an eRoll might affect how the device works more than what I am used to using. This is not a bad thing, I could easily settle on 3 juices just to use in the eRoll. I read someone post that 50/50 should be used in an eRoll. Is that correct? I am using 70/30 in my Provari but if the eRoll wants 50/50 I have no problem with that but would like to know in advance.

2. When I use a cig-a-like I am at 3.7v. I recently tried a 2ohm cartomizer from Ikenvape and noticed a big difference between the 2.4ohms I was using before. Where any of you using 3.7v and 2ohm in your cigalike before changing to the eRoll?

3. Is it a device that is unfriendly to being loaded with juice for days and not used? A week might go by where I would use it two or three times then another week will go by and I would use it every day several times a day, then there will be a week where I would not use it at all.

I only use a cig-a-like when needing hands free so usage is all over the place.

1. I don't know who said that but not in my experience. You can go up as high as 50 on the VG but 30 is better. I've used 100% PG in fact on juices that only come that way and they simulate smokes better. If you're already using 70/30, I would stick with that in the Eroll.

2. Yes, I used 510 manuals before and both LR and SR Boge cartomizers. You won't notice much of a change between LR and SR with the Eroll and, personally, for sure not enough to warrant the decreased vape time. I stick with SR myself and get plenty of hit. Much better than any other cigalike I've used plus its regulated. Woowhoo.

3. No. I've had tanks filled for months actually that I haven't used. (They're backups to unexpectedly have to run out the door as there's illness in the family.) No taste change and no tank degradation. As I said, I use 70/30 and that amount of PG is not going to allow any bad bug breeding. I was always leery of cartomizers filled and setting around when others said they were fine though so I guess its just a personal thing. I do think the key here is the juice. I only use totally clear and the least colored juice I enjoy. I really don't get the atty build up some others talk about.

Also, truthfully, using the same juices all the time, I don't clean Eroll parts or other devices for that matter as much as some others do. As along as everything tastes okay and the device is working fine, I'm happy. I guess my thinking is kinda "if it works, don't fix it" hung over from my cartomizer days. Once a cart is washed its never as good as it was before that. I used to wash those on a schedule and paid a price. So, yeh, I let the device and taste dictate cleaning needs. Someone here, however, said that if you have leaking issues a tank water bath fixes it... something about surface tension.

I have a handful of batteries and highly recommend spending 10 bucks or so to buy at least one new one monthly along with the usual recurring monthly purchases we vapers do. So far I haven't had a battery die (knock on wood) but its nice to have a stash. That way they build up and then carrying a pack of fully assembled ones really lightens the load. Eventually you won't need to buy cones when you've reached how many you want to carry assembled.

I use Johnson Creek 100% VG Domestic which seems to work fine with the atomizer. I do wash it under hot running water every few days. Seems to make it last. Now I did try this Bobas Bounty 100% VG stuff and it just didn't work very well for me at all. It burned up real quick. The second time I tried it and dripped a little on the atomizer first and let it sit for an hour or so. It worked a little better but I think its too much trouble and honestly just didn't like it.

Well, I did it. :)

The bad thing is I got about $80.00 worth of 510 stick batteries the other day. Maybe I can burn them up if I can find some really low resistance cartomizers.

I have ordered an eRoll kit, 2 extra batteries and atomizer covers. Included some spare cartridges and 2.2 ohm atomizer heads.

Today I also ordered some Five Pawns.

I hope you like it! I think you made a good decision. It's a great little cig-a-like even if it isn't 510 threaded. :)

I still wish the battery would have had the connection like a 306 :)

So, I haven't researched the 510s or 306s in a long time, but my understanding is that they charge from the screw end which means you have to break them down to put them in the PCC, which would ruin the eRoll experience for me. One of the eRoll's best advantages is that it snaps right into the PCC.

Furthermore, I would imagine that a screw fitting would add length and/or width to the unit. And why would you prefer something you screw together vs. something that simply snaps together?

In my experience, it's more about the total dissolved solids in the juice rather than the viscosity (which can be thinned if necessary).

The 306 will fit into a 510 charger but. The 306 is the same diameter as the eroll. I will have to examine it when it arrives to see if it would have added much length.

I don't ever plan on carrying the PCC, the PCC will only be used for charging but the PCC will never be carried.

I will always have either a Provari or an Iken 900 or 350 in my pants pocket. The only time I will be actually using the eRoll is when I want hands free vaping.

I think right now I am vaping a Provari 90% of the time, and Iken 6% of the time and a cig-a-like 4% of the time.

The reason I want to always have a small automatic with me at all times is when I needed something hands free is when I backslid and smoked an analog.

The plan is to keep two of the in my shirt pocket without the PCC and have a larger device in my left front pocket.

Basically it is going to be carried a lot and used very little.

One of the reasons I wished it was 306a is I like using my multi port charger. I load up my cigalikes once a week and get the batteries charged up in one setting and have a box with 10 loaded cig-a-likes setting on my desk. When I have used one of the cig-a-likes it gets tossed in the used box then I once a week get the used ones ready to go again.

My multi port charger will charge 510, and 306 batteries. It will do eGo's as well but takes a very long time on those since it is low enough power to not hurt the 510.

I got the eRoll only because so many people say it will be a better hands free device than what I am using now.
