Lit up an analog today, after 3 weeks off of it...

Wow! It was absolutely disgusting. I first started hitting it like vaping, but then I realized and had to remember that it wasn't vaping! I even struggled to light it, since it felt like I "forgot" how to light an analog...

I took about two puffs of the analog and couldn't take the taste and the feeling, I extinguished it, and grabbed my vape. Before vaping, I took what's left of my last pack of analogs and just threw it in the trash bin.

I lit up the analog just to see if I will truly be off of it now that I'm vaping. The nasty taste and the feeling after just two puffs confirmed that I will never be going back!

Yup, I've been suggesting it to all my buddies since we all smoked analogs (and many of them still do). I think a few that vapes still smoke analogs with vaping (can't understand why after today).

I think so far, I've spent more money on vaping than I would have on analogs for a three week period, but it's the initial investment in equipment is the way I look at it...

More so than the difference of the money spent, less carbon intake into my lungs was well worth it... :)

Not chastising anyone who smokes analog. I'm a firm believer of mutual tolerance and what we put into our body is not anyone's business (so long as what you are doing doesn't interfere or prevent others from doing so)...

I just thought analogs tasted disgusting after lighting one up after three weeks of being off of it... This is coming from a guy who smoked Marlboro Reds for 18 years :p

I don't mind analog smokers at all, in fact, I don't vape indoors for just common etiquette for non vapers and non smokers (just me, I know many who vape indoors, I'm cool with that too :) ), and when my buddies steps outside for an analog break, I join them with my APV... :)

I had one a few weeks ago. After my wife's aunt's funeral. My battery ran out and I didn't bring a backup. I was pretty sure I could wait until I got home, but I had one of my wife's smokes (my old brand) anyway. After I was done, I told myself I should have waited. If my e-liquid tasted like that, I'd have thrown it out after the first drag. The worst part of it was that that taste stayed in my mouth and the smell stayed on my lips for hours.

Some people can't have a cigarette, otherwise they'll relapse. I have no problem with it (other than the horrible taste). Everyone's different. Under normal circumstances I'd have waited. It was a more of a social/comforting my wife and mother-in-law thing.

Edit: I was a pack a day guy for 20 years.

I haven't touched one in almost five weeks...still have a half-smoked pack and a lighter sitting in the drawer next to my computer desk, where they've been untouched ever since I started vaping. I've been curious a couple times as to whether I'd find it repulsive now, but I'm not ready to take that chance yet - cigarettes had a strong hold on me for 25 years and I don't want to tempt fate.

I spent a lot to start with but, I still haven't spent what I've saved off analogs. It does slow down once you find the right gear and the 2-3 vendors and 5-6 juices (or do DIY) and, get the PV you like best and a delivery device or two you like and, that you can rebuild or, at least just replace wicks and heads on.

As for that being tolerant of smokers well, yeah I started of with that intention too but, now they stink and, my tolerance stops at my front door.

Congrats! I want to get to that point. Maybe I keep them around as a crutch or something. I get about half way through a cig and think "Appalling!" and put it out. I repeat this process about 3-4 times a day. It's like habitually banging a brick against your forehead thinking "Think time it'll be different."

Know the feeling well... My wife still smokes (does vape too, just not exclusively :() and I'll light one up for her once in a while... Just the lighting up is enough to make me run for my vape!!

I think it really depends on if switching over was easy or difficult. After I got my first "real setup" (not some Blu disposables), I was done smoking the next day. My Halo Triton and Halo juices tasted so much better and easily to care of the nicotine fix I needed. I got my stuff in the mail on a Thursday afternoon. Had one cigarette that night before bed, and 3 on Friday - first thing in the morning, after dinner and right before bed. There was no ceremonial last cigarette or feelings like I was going to miss it. It my feelings were simply that I don't need them anymore. I told myself I'd try to go one day without a cigarette. The only thing I think my body craved, as stupid as it sounds was the carbon monoxide light headedness. That feeling went away by lunch.

But again, everyone's different. Don't tempt fate if you don't absolutely have to. Part of the addiction is making yourself believe "let me try this to see if I can use it once." A lot of people relapse for all sorts of drugs that way, not just cigarettes.

I have relapsed many times since I started vaping almost 5 years ago. But as the tech has advanced, those periods of relapse are fewer and farther between. I used to get so upset with myself that vaping couldn't keep analogs at bay, but I've finally come to the conclusion that it will come eventually. I have been doing far better the past year and a half, having vaped exclusively for most of it. While cigarettes DO taste awful now, they still do the job of feeding my hungry little nicotine demon most effectively and quickly. I enjoyed smoking when I did, and I enjoy vaping now that I've found great, reliable gear. I am hoping that by this time next year I will be completely free from analogs, and down to 6mg or less.
