The list of Chinese items with a proposed 25% tariff announced today includes lithium batteries.

So watch batteries, bios backup batteries. hearing aid batteries. Are there bigger lithium non- rechargables?Hmm, the only 'lithium' I see here is:
85065000 ........... Lithium primary cells and primary batteries
"Primary" means "not rechargeable".
Hmm.. bios batteries were 6 bucks and may jump to $7.50. I’ll live.So watch batteries, bios backup batteries. hearing aid batteries. Are there bigger lithium non- rechargables?

There may be some bigger types out there, I just don't know of any. I thought Rossum might know offhand, but I guess he vamoosed.@ilporcupine
Yeah, that's the same battery my RedDot scope for my AR15 uses. You can get 'em at the dollar store for cheap ($0.33 FRNs each), I usually have 5+ of those in the case for it. You won't be vaping with that.
Sure they are. Comets and asteroids are part of nature. Plummeting Chinese space stations sent to crash into the U.S. in retaliation for trade restrictions on the other hand...These aren't natural lakes......

They still have to pay the tariff for the steel and aluminium contained in the space station, no exceptionsPlummeting Chinese space stations sent to crash into the U.S. in retaliation for trade restrictions on the other hand.

Went to bed.I thought Rossum might know offhand, but I guess he vamoosed.
Rossum is quite right, "batteries" (tariff heading 8506) are not the same as "electric accumulators" (heading 8507). Having said that, I'm with China on this one. Tariff wars work both ways and the WTO would firmly support any country in imposing retaliatory tariffs against the US for its ridiculous behaviour.
Well then aren't we lucky the US government does give a flying fig about the WTO right? America and the World Trade Organization
No idea what that is supposed to mean. The "Outside" like in the "real world" maybe?
It's a sub-forum intentionally buried several levels down, where contentious discussion of topics like politics and religion is allowed. It could also be regarded as ECF's own "Fight Club".The "Outside" like in the "real world" maybe?
Thanks for that bit of education, appreciate the heads-up much more than the slap-down before. I'll give that sub-forum a pass and will refrain from any further statements which could be interpreted as challenging US moral world supremacy. It's a sub-forum intentionally buried several levels down, where contentious discussion of topics like politics and religion is allowed.
