Been putting in that OT, chasing the money as it were.
10% flavoring is def my sweet spot for the watermelon/strawberry-kiwi combo. Not overwhelming with a pleasant taste on the exhale. Also lowering the flavoring content seems to have reduced the throat hit, this is also good for me as I'm so over vaping being anything like smoking.
20% VG is working nicely for me! Well enough that I mixed up a 15ml batch which is a huge amount in comparison to the amount I have been mixing to date.
We're going away for memorial weekend, camping with friends at O'bannon state park. So I have a little over a week to get this blue foam mod working the way I want it to work. I've tried 2 times so far and the first one leaked like a sieve while the second one wicked too slowly and I ended up with that dreaded burnt blue foam taste. (yuck) I've ordered some extra Joye atty's to have on hand for the trip as well as a passthrough for my BSB for the drive down.
I'm going to hit radio shack on sunday and get the parts to whip up a variable voltage adapter from the accessories plug in the truck to my passthrough. I figure to allow three voltages form the box 3.7, 4.2, and 5.
On a side note, the DSE atty's I mentioned before are actually manufactured by SLB. I also found that the resistance of these atty's is over 1 ohm higher than my genuine Joye atty's. With that in mind I set my enercell adapter to 5v and gave one a whirl. Bingo! Hits just like a Joye atty running off a fresh battery. For my amusement I also gave them a go at 6v and promptly needed to spend the next 5 mins coughing my lungs up. Oh what a difference a volt can make!
Hoosier, I don't know that I would describe the strawberry-kiwi as tart. Its definitely a more subtle flavor than the watermelon and I found I prefer it closer to that 15% mark. If it was tart to you perhaps a drop or two of TPA sweetener would turn the tide. I did that with some dekangs chocolate flavor that wasn't doing it for me and it made a world of difference. I do not recall the exact amount of sweetener I used but I do remember starting at 1 drop per 5ml then I just added a drop after sampling until I was happy with the taste. Process took me almost a week as I would always give it overnight or the equiv before sampling and adding more.
Once again thanks to all, your input and posts kept me thinking instead of just giving up and selling off my DIY supplies. I've got to leave for work in two hours and this bottle of English Toffee (lorann) and this bottle of White Chocolate (TPA) are giving me the evil eye, I think I must dunk them in some nic & vg to teach em a lesson!
