Little help with the RES

Hey all.... new owner, just got it in today and have the batteries charging.
I looked through the manual, most thorough manual I've received with a PV....
I took the unit apart, so I can learn what's what and how to and etc.
Everything looks fine and whole, but I can't get the RES back on.
It does not look or feel stripped, and it came apart fine, sounded a little gritty, but other than that....
Anyone else run into this?
It just won't screw back on. I don't want to mess with it too much, but I don't think it should be this hard
to do either

You do know that it is a reverse thread right? Also Try putting a little dab of noalox or vaseline on the threads to help stop the grinding.

Nope, didn't realize that! I had tried the vaseline.
Got it back together, now if the batteries would just charge already I'd be good to go.

Also, in general - from what I understand, it's probably better to use Vaseline (or any other brand of petroleum jelly ... ChapStick has a handy little applicator tip on their lip balm) instead of Noalox on any of the threads of any Alpha because ...

1) It's USP safe - in case it works it's way inside the RES chamber and you end up vaping some of it.

2) Noalox doesn't play well with the Slider Switch.

Probably wouldn't hurt to put a tiny amount of Noalox on the nipple of the batt(s) although I don't know if it's really needed, with the Nickel plating these puppies are conductivity monsters!

Of course, on the other hand ... I could be an idiot and talking out me ....!
I'm new to this mod and still learning it's ways!!

After a couple weeks of use the nickel plating on the threads will smooth out and then the need for any sort of vaseline or gel wont be necessary anymore. Just stick with it.
