Although I, personally, have no interest in using TC until a little further research is done regarding possible leeching of nickle into eliquids...for me...to buy a mod without TC would be foolhardy (even if I currently would not use the TC mode).
Thus...since they do not have TC...I've knocked the KBOX Nano (and the KBOX Mini, HV Defender 50W and Coolfire IV) off my "Little itty bitty mods under $100" to consider list.
I got an ijoy Asolo recently. The mod has TC using kanthal wire. From my mini review on kent's thread in vet forum:
----
Got the HG package today - sent Monday

Wayne sent the 'other stuff' along with the ijoy asolo and will send the kbox mini later (on HG's shipping).
The ijoy asolo is the biggest mod I have now :- ) ... a tad taller than the Joyetech VT but the same width, depth. I'm using the GS Air TC (except with the kanthal coil - 1.5Ω) and it goes through a 'learning' cycle to set temp to taste - you set your wattage first then go to TC.... Wayne tested it. ...
The thing is, once the temp is set at, for me, at 400° it sets wattage at 15W, but then I drop the wattage to @12.5 and the temp is lower of course. So I'm thinking that anyone vaping below 15W is never really going to need TC in any form. I did crank it up to 30W (33W is the 'limit' suggested for 1.5Ω coils.) and it didn't burn or taste burnt - something I couldn't do on any other mod.... I can't go to 20W (on a premade coil) on any of my flavors without burning.... and it will go to 200W in Ni and Ti at lower ohms of course.
----
I'm not absolutely sure if what I say about 'no need for TC at anything below 15W' with kanthal, but the mod (and the math) seems to be 'telling me' that :- )
So, while perhaps 'foolhardy', I'm not convinced that TC at the wattages I vape, is a 'requirement' for me at this point.

And while I gave the ijoy mod a good test, I still prefer the smaller footprint and rounded corners of the Kbox mini and Defenders, so the ijoy isn't seeing much use at this point. If there is a smaller kanthal TC mod in the future - it would be 'under consideration' however, again, not a requirement, for me at least.
As far as size goes, I'm not looking for the absolute smallest (replaceable batt) mod - for example the istick 20 and 30 size is a bit small for my hand, whereas the Kbox mini and the Defender fit well. In fact, the Kbox nano - I'll have to compare sizes - may also be too small. But I posted the above link for this thread since it went on pre-sale recently.
That said, I like the looks and features of the Clouper mini + . Thanks for posting it. I came as close as one could get in getting the original Clouper mini right before the melt down thing which I consider, from all reports, is no longer a problem.
