@ToolmanTexas - What can you tell me, hopefully, about the old smok ZMAX V2 full size or the Mini? I've read all over about the Sigelei ZMAX, but not much about the smok.

Found the full size for $5.99 and the mini for $4.99. Wondering if I ought to get a few for use when mowing my pastures, deep sea fishing, doing yardwork, etc., instead of using my more expensive mods then. Also, have several fairly new to vaping Tootle Puffer friends, who've been using only internal battery mods so far. Thought the ZMAX might be a way to get them inexpensively introduced to using external batteries.

I think I had one of the Sigelei ZMAX mini back in the day and was a fine VV/VW device from what I remember.

For $5... why not LOL, unless they gouge you on shipping.

Yea, comments I've found about the Sigelei have all been good, but haven't found much at all on the SMOK. I know $5 is dirt cheap, but didn't want to get them for newbies to external batteries, if there were known problems with the SMOK ones.

SMOK products seem to get a lot of bad reviews. Haven't owned much of their stuff since the early days (SID was my first real external battery mod... didn't last long LOL but I loved it).

Mine too. I hated it so much that I decided to stock up on Provari instead and stop messing around with the cheap stuff.

After my initial ego/ce4, the combination of a vivi nova with black metal tank and a black SID began the vape gear fever :)

It looked the bomb.. though, in hindsight, yeah that performance LOL .

The iStick 30 watt has the fluted top, while the 40W is more streamlined and has a lanyard clip perforation.

All of my original iSticks, bought upon initial release, are still working fantastically and still holding their charge. The only reason I'm not using the 20W is because of the faulty, cheap 510 connection. But the 30, 40 and 50W are still kicking like the day they were born.

10Watts :- ) and... the

iStick 40 is TC

iStick TC40W - Eleaf electronic cigarette

....
Don’t think it matters to Kat, but just to be clear, the iStick 40 does TC in Ni and Ti, but not in SS. As I recall, people were just starting to use SS when the iStick 40 was released.

Also the 510 is on the other side of the top. I don't own one but it seems to be in the wrong place for me.
True, but the thing is so itty-bitty that it doesn’t make much difference in practice.

The original 20 hit the hardest because it didn’t buck. Gave mine to a newbie and later heard that it died. I liked how it vaped, actually.

My 30s (2 or 3 - can’t remember) all suffered from sudden death syndrome.

My 40 is still going strong, but is now only used to dry burn and to build coils on (I only do SS TC these days). Still taken by its gray color - which looks more like a slightly metallic, dark olive to my eyes. Still like how it feels in my hand - just slightly more beefy and therefore more secure than the 20 or 30.

SMOK products seem to get a lot of bad reviews.

From Spinfuel:

SMOKTech is about Quality, Performance, and Aesthetics
SMOK makes great products. The quality is always superb, and pricing is competitive, and they seem to know what customers want, and more importantly, what customers like.

SMOK knows the importance of Aesthetics. In my “Vaping Aesthetics” columns I talk a lot about SMOK products because they are among the best looking products on the market.
