Buttons only, my 4th. These are good, for an extra 1/2 inch of length (or something), you can bump up to 3000mAh. To me, it's always been a no-brainer.

*NEW* AW IMR 18490 3.7v 1200mAh

Bigger IS better.

I already had one of those in my cart before you posted. But, I can get a pair of these E-fest 1100 cheaper than the a single aw 12000 Is e-fest in favor these days because a pair would make a lot of sense to me.

Efest IMR 18490 Button Top

If I order from them the largest capacity 18650 button top I see on that site is also an efest

Efest IMR 18650 3100mAh 20amp Button Top

Any comments? Any one? Bueler? Bueler?

Just passing by. I think it would be safer to avoid efest if you had other options. They have a bad reputation of rewrapping batteries and rating it at extreme amps which would damage the batteries if one had not the full understanding of batteries properties. At least this statement is valid about half a year ago.... hadn't been here much.

Vape safe yo

ADD: 20 amps is not exaggerated tho I think.

Thank you, Good Sir. I looked at RTD (a vendor I'm familiar with) but must have missed these. If you recommend, I shall buy! I did get the the extender ring for the provi, so I was thinking I'd get a couple of those "tootsie roll" 18650s, too.

I think the tootsie rolls are flat tops.

Ah...that would be a problem for some! As for me....I really don't think it's much of a deal since I vape as such low wattage/voltage. I never go over 8 watts with my 1.5ohm coils. (edited....I meant WATTS! I put 8 amps. I never go over 8 watts.... Total dingbat here)

The tootsie rolls are definitely flat tops. I just ordered a couple of button top AW 18650 from RTD to go in the provari that's on the way.

The differences that once existed are no longer the case. Way back when, its smoothness was very unique (along with the Darwin & BuzzPro). Today, there are many that are at least close to its equal (the DNA40 is definitely on that list). So now it's main appeal is the ridiculous durability, and the fact that you can have them repaired & returned in less than a week.

Is there a difference in the vape between it and a Defender? Yes, there is. But it's no longer so big that it actually matters. The Defenders are wonderful little devices. All things being equal, I'm fairly confident that my Provis will outlast them, but who's to say (for sure)?

Low wattage, si! But if it fits one's needs, it's still one HECKUVA mod, be at at $30, or even at $50. It still screams "QUALITY!" It's no longer on a high-and-far platform though, that's for sure. We have evolved (no Brandon-pun intended)!

I hope this helps. Alden.

Thanks, DP! This is what I was thinking. Thank you for confirming. There is no doubt that Provape is the epitome of quality and customer service in the vaping industry. I'm sure ProVaris will outlast most any other APV. If not, reasonable cost repairs are available. I'm just not sure that purchasing a device that will sit mostly unused is the way to buy into the brand. $30 though. Wow...

Batts batts batts! Good stuffs.

Now that I've drunken the cool aid, I am going to need to power my 2.5. I definitely want to pick up one or two 18490's and I would also like as large a capacity 18650 button top.

Suggestions?

I'll just toss my HAT into the ring and say yes on the RTD red AW 18490s for the Provi in standard mode. I use the Orbs AND the AWs for 18650 mode.

I'll agree with Cloudd and TMcase on the Efests. There has just been far too many complaints about them, and cutting corners cost-wise on batteries is, IMNSHO, a dangerous cut.

You had already placed it, I take it. Sorry - I should have grabbed a couple of those and included them with a link. :(

I've checked a few times on there, but perhaps they no longer carry them in 18490 (or 18500). RTD has always been the go-to, so at least we've got that!

Sooo...it's been since 2013 since I messed with replaceable batteries, and my mind is a fog. I have some older ones that I'm pretty sure I can use (at least some of them) because I am a confirmed tootler and never stray past 8 watts (ever). BUT...things have changed over the years! I am thinking that the 18490 size would be nice to use sometimes, but I'm having trouble finding the higher mAh quality type that will work with the Provari 2.5. Am I understanding right that they have to have button tops? I can find 18650s with button tops up the wazoo....but seem to be having trouble with the 18490s......

Help? Anyone?

All set now, 4 of 4th?

For my $$, this is a better choice:
Presa TC 75W by Wismec $29.99

The 40 is a fixed battery, the 75, same size, is replaceable battery (18650 flat top). And only $6 more....

Still tempting me..... hmmmmmm.......

I think the tootsie rolls are flat tops.

They sure are and will not work in the Provi. Yes, I tried.

I bought these *NEW* AW IMR 18650 3.7v 2200mAh

And these: *NEW* AW IMR 18490 3.7v 1200mAh

I also bought a battery case. Seen too many pocket explosions lately.

Shopping perfection!!!

Alden, I have this feeling that you and a Provari might not be estranged. I think you might use it more than not. ;)

Are you trying to enable me? Is that what this is? Vaping was supposed to be cheaper than analogs. I'm trying NOT to spend money as there are some really cool APVs forthcoming, both announced and un. The PlayDoh, Kanger squonker, BB and a number of SbS are screaming for my attention. And the darned Provi 2.5, which wasn't even on my radar, wags a $30 price tag in my face like a cheap street-walker on 11th Ave. The last lady who tried this had no front teeth and promised me things I didn't even know were possible. Can the Provi 2.5 live up to that? :D:lol:

PS. I passed on the street-walker...

Well...DavidO...I have to agree with you...35 more Watts, TC and replaceable 18650...for only $6 more...is probably a more intelligent purchase.

But...for someone like me...who has yet to ever go over 15Watts, has no interest in TC, has multiple replaceable 18650 Mods in my Vapocalypse Drawer and who enjoys the convenience of just plugging in a Mod to my USB Charging Station before hitting the sack...$6 is $6...

(Plus...when you're buying 4 of them [1 as, yet another, Presa back-up + 3 to PIF to newbie's]...$6 "becomes" $24.)

{The 40W is slightly smaller than the 75WTC...

Wismec Presa 40W 24.4 x 34.9 x 81.9... 69,743mm³

Wismec Presa 75WTC 23 x 39.3 x 85...76,832mm³}

Ok, got me on the size :)
But the 75TC vapes great at the low end, I usually run mine around 8 watts. And has the charging port as well, so you can just plug it in...
