"Top reason to get an ego: you can use low resistance(lr) attomizers."

And risk a short, and it is widely known that LR atomizers cause premature battery failure...

"Your gonna vape more than you smoked(everyone does)."

I don't.

And I'm not comparing the ego to the 808. I simply stated that the ego is one of the only batteries that runs at 3.2 volts instead of a true 3.7 volt device. So, same atomizer, less vapor.

I don't want to get into a fight.

Everything I have said is true.

This is what I mean by ego dogma.

I have been vaping for 3 years and my PV is not an ego. Handle it.

Okay I am not sure where you are getting your info but I have never heard of an eGo battery catching fire unless the button was pressed into the casing... And that can happen with any battery just so you know (protected or not).

And as for low resistance atomizers and cartomizers you are missing the point... A standard low mah cig look alike (like a kr) can not handle them. It doesn't matter if the eGo battery puts out less voltage because it produces WAAAAAAAAAY more vapor with a 1.5-2.5ohm atty/carto (and is therefore more satisfying) than a kr808. The reason I can say this is I started on a kr and now only use an eGo with lr attys and cartos. That said, I have NEVER had a failure with my 650mah batteries with low resistance atty's/cartos. Matter of fact my batteries are still going strong (4 months now on the current set). There is no conclusive evidance to this date (contradictory to our friend) that says otherwise. What is your argument to that? He obviously has a problem with eGos (a big problem since he's the only one bashing it twice in this one short thread).

The truth is your batteries life span will vary depending on how you vape no matter what pv with atty/carto you use. So when he says "premature battery failure" that's all in the eyes of the beholder. A battery will last me between 3-6 months. So my advice for this dude is calm down. If you got a problem with eGos post your own thread. Don't sit here and bash them. I didn't notice you making any good suggestions for this person that is new to vaping. You didn't even mention what pv you do use. WOW.

And for future reference if you don't want to get into a fight then don't start one... My name is Ryan Cummings and I vape an eGo with royalsmokers ce2 XL cartos @ 2.4ohm (syringe style) and 1.5ohm reg cartos/attys.... Deal with it. :p

Thanks everyone for the feedback and advice. I appreciate quite a bit the fast and concise responses. I don't think i need the battery life the joye has, but i might eventually. I think for now a 510 sounds better.

I did look around at many a retailers 510's, and looking at there prices, and the price of a PCC, as well as getting the other stuff that comes with the MAGMA, you end up hitting the cost of said PV. Unless there is a retailer I've missed that has a better deal (still going through the list).

I chose a 510 because there's a clear path if/when something more is needed. There's larger batteries available if that's what you want, there's all kinds of mods available, if that's what you want. The constant seems to be the 510 part, so the initial investment won't be wasted. And because the form factor is so widely used, I don't see it running out any time soon, which is also nice.

Fauxpuffer.. This is the first I've heard of egos "shorting out" and causing fires. The debate on lr atomizers shortening the life has been highly debated. I've had no trouble. Besides, I can get a whole new kit for $30 so I personally don't care.

Im not gonna explain ohms and resistance to you but IF the ego does run at 3.2 even.. Not sure it's that low.. An lr atty is comparable to a 5 volt experience. So, which is hotter?

You don't have an ego? You deal with it. Stick with what you like. I have an 808 kit that's in a drawer. Both of the converts I've had liked it... Until they got an ego. I'll personally never use it again. Just doesn't compare.

Congrats on making the switch! Might want to check back in after you've narrowed down your list to ask if they have a coupon code available before you order. The savings can really add up.

I said WITH the same atty, less power. You don't have to explain resistance to me... I know it well.
And, the OP smokes 3 cigarettes a day, so an 808 kit would be ideal. I recommend the Bloog MaxxFusion kit. It's the best 808 I've tried to date.

Bloog MaxxFusion system is awesome! Batteries have about 20% more mah than other 808 batteries of the same size. The cartos produce the most vapor of any cartos I have used. They are airy, about like an analog (that's the idea, I think) and they are very burn-resistant. The easy-fill tips are like micro drip-tips, very nice. I don't vape as much as I used to, so the PCC kit is PERFECT for me. Also, it would make an excellent out-on-the-town solution for heavier vapers. The new PCC is very trick, and allows one to see the battery charge on the MaxxFusion batteries, which is very convenient. I love it, will be doing a full review soon...

Now that.... was the useful information I was requesting. I would actually be interested in something like this while at work as I am a bouncer at a few bars and get weird looks with my ego. Sorry about getting a little pissy on my last response to you... I just thought you might have been here just to trash the ego (though you do need to re-check your info). The krs do put out a lot of vapor I just didn't like the battery life even with a pcc because I could vape a battery dead before the other one would be done charging. Thanks for the info.

I say take the plunge. A buddy of mine turned me onto ecigs in august 2009. After I tried his 510, I almost immediately ordered one for myself. Using it, I weened myself off of tobacco and haven't had a cigarette since. Occasional puff from a black and mild aside, I haven't had a cigarette since.

Since that time, I've moved on to an eGo. I probably spend about $30-$50 on equipment and liquid (mostly liquid now that I have my eGo and a bunch of good 510 atomizers) every 2 months, which is way cheaper than what I was spending on hand-roll tobacco. Plus the joy of smoking indoors is priceless... especially in the winter months. ;)

The other thing I personally like about vaping is how "clean" it is. I have a bunch of home electronics and PCs that, when I was smoking, would get gunked up with tar and other debris. At the peak of my smoking, I was wiping away cakes of 2nd hand tar and dust from the inside of my PC heat sinks and cooling fans. After I stopped smoking inside and encouraged others not to smoke inside, this cleared up quickly. Now that I vape at my PC and around my home entertainment stuff, I still experience the clean cases AND enjoy a relaxing "smoke" around them.

Anyway... that's my experience. Glad to hear that you switched. These are just the things I like most about this "replacement habit".
