Nice.. Love the name (nothin' like a smokey treat).

What have you pitched to the shops? One concern of mine is also the branding- you got your own boxes coming in? Manufacturer wants quite a larger order than I was prepared to make before making custom packaging for my stuff ;)

Things to look forward to!

Phylo, why are you repeating that 1 penstyle cartridge equals 2 packs nonsense?

And Syntax, one mini equals a pack? Come on.

Not that you guys are uniquely guilty in this regard, but you're here now. So how about an answer from your perspective as beginning sellers? Why repeat the tired old FALSE cartridge life claims?

I bit the bullet once I had gone through a ton of samples from several different vendors and ponied up a ton of money to get the atomizers and the box branded... I thought that it would go over better in retail stores than the generic box that they normally come in.

I think I got pretty lucky since the e-cigs Im importing are coming off of the same assembly line as one of the other major players in this market.

Here is a pic of the sample box I had made up:

Maybe since you and I are in completely different geographical locations we should swap local marketing idea's.. I have some awesome leads that are generating allot of interest..

I am going off of my own personal experience being a pack a day smoker for over 20 years on this one.. A cartridge does actually last me a couple of days.. Granted by the end of the second day I have to hit the cartridge a little harder but I can still get a hit. So maybe a claim of approximately 1.5 packs would be a better claim, at least for the pen style e-cigs.

Phylo is right.

2 against 1, we are the victors and therefore correct.

Oh, really now? ;)

I think you're calling the election before all the votes are counted. :p

It's an often discussed topic here, and the genreal consensus from all of OUR experience is that 2 packs for a pen style is a gross exageration, and even a half a pack for a 901 is stretching it.

Again, nothing against either of you, this is what virtually every seller claims, and it's something I think we, the consumers, need to address with all of them. We deserve more accurate advertising. But that starts somewhere. And you guys are just getting started, and can still do it right.

Gang? A little support here on the matter of how many cigs you get from a cartridge?

I did say almost a pack. Now it says half pack. People should be quite pleased when it lasts them longer than that.

Cheers

You are the victors ! ! ! ! !
What absolute BOLLOCKS and you know it, we are the victors the "MEMBERS" on this forum because not one would agree with you on your cart predicaments!

Guys, just my two cents on this; Leaford is absolutely right. By no stretch of anyone's imagination does one cart equal two packs.

Just a customer service recommendation for you; always under-promise and over-deliver.
You're making claims that are simply untrue (regardless of how many manufacturers say they are). I can guarantee that when you start selling product and your customers start using that product, all that's going to happen is that they'll be angry that at best you stretched the truth to sell them something. Your credibility at that moments suffers greatly - and I promise that your reputation and credibility are your absolute most important corporate assets. Once they're gone, you're gone.

Ok, this might all seem like an overreaction to a single claim about some cartridges, but the fact is that you're just starting out in an new industry. But, as we're all here to support each other, take this as friendly advice from those who would like to see you do well :)
Concern your self less with marketing, advertising and market strategies (you're not quite there yet) and more with plain old customer service and a great product.

Let me just say that my "2 against 1, we are the victors" was a joke (for me) and in no way reflects reality. In response to Leaford's criticism- we all know he's right. It wasn't what my post was about. It's like having someone protest the new power plant while they are discussing the new school.

Call our cartridge claims wishful thinking- for a good bit, I almost pulled off the manufacturers claims and proved it to myself. But now I figure that 2 cartridges per pack is a more flexible claim and that people will get their money's worth without much trouble.

I think that the cartridge life really depends on the person.. I have sold several to people in my area who have been quite happy and they are getting about the same mileage out of the cartridges that I am... That is to say about 1.5 to 2 packs worth. I do have a friend who pretty much chain smokes his and he does go through at least a cartridge a day and he used to be a pack a day smoker.

I think that the way we smoke an e-cig is verry different than the way we smoke traditional cigarettes, at least for me it is...

whats in a name?id worry more about offering good service, products and prices for your customers.

as for cart life...IMO its a load of bull mate...i get some satisfaction for maybe 10 cigs worth or less for a pen cart, and maybe 5 or so for a mini...on average, using normal carts...

i think they are roughly the figures most would agree with...not sure about Janty HD carts, probably longer, but they are the exception to the rule...

you could start a poll and get a broader opinion if you like.

I would hardly call myself a placebo smoker. I have been smoking about a pack a day for over 20 years. It is obvious that our usage patterns are different, but that is no excuse to start calling people names.

One of the main reasons that I participate in this forum is to learn from the other people who are using these product's. It is my goal to offer as reliable a product as possible and to make sure that any claims I make can be substantiated by the majority of the people who use them.

I have started to make changes to my site to reflect this and I do appreciate any feedback whether good or bad. I know that there are several people on this site that sell e-cigarettes who have a reputation for excellent customer service and a good product... Im hoping that I will someday be added to that list.
