I especially like this line...

"Many parents aren’t buying it. Adults who smoke often use E-cigs to quit, they say, but kids may use E-cigs as a gateway to cigarettes – or worse."

OOOHHHHH NO!!!!!!! or WORSE!!

Little Johnny was such a nice kid until he started vaping. Now he's {SOMETHING WORSE} with hookers off a cardboard house they live in on 42nd and Main. I'm guessing it was the green apple flavor that put him over the edge.....

Seriously? Or worse? Yes because every single substance on the face of this Earth automatically makes kids want to smoke ......... or shoot up other ..... EVERYTHING is a gateway drug.

Damn fear mongering idiots, and damn parents who must protect their precious snowflake from anything at all ever or they will explode.

The author of this article as well as the publisher have both made comments stating how they could really care less what people think of this poor attempt at fear mongering journalism.

PLEASE help us by going to this website, reading this article and posting your opinions!

Look for the link at the top of the article and read the shop owner's comments that the publisher agreed to post and make your comments there too. This is local for us but it's also important to us. Please help...

I'm surprised that non smokers who advocate the banning of tobacco also can't stand the idea of electronic alternatives, especially when they have no education on the subject and believe things in the news like that article above. Guess what, when I was younger I did much worse than use an electronic vapor device. I had access to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, etc. and being under 18 or 21 didn't stop me, no matter how many restrictions there were. Teenagers are going to experiment with stuff, that's what they do. And the best thing you can do for them is educate them so they are smart about it.

People ask why don't I quit using nicotine all together, I don't know, maybe because I'm an addict? Why don't you stop drinking coffee, over eating and criticizing others on what they are doing because you have nothing better to do with your time? I hate living here some times.

"The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation. "

Attributed to one but said in various forms by many before and after.

Self righteous jerk, welcome to the interwebz, they're everywhere.
I just feel like he must be a very miserable person. Part of me wants to get into it with him, but it would be like arguing with a child - only it would be much more depressing because my opponent would be an adult with the introspective capacities of a child. Must be dark in there... ...behind that wall of hubris, I mean.

The writer of the article is showing her true colors as well. I believe her to be equally color-blind.

All around, I find their handling of the comments incorrigibly unprofessional and painful to read.

I think it's kind of funny how they mention that this is a local article and seem surprised to see comments coming in from all over. I guess they didn't realize that the internet was global.

I haven't decided if he is a troll or not. I just can't imagine someone being so self-righteous and only believes in what he thinks and thinks everything else is false. Many people presented facts and told him to go look at other things, but no, he doesn't care. And then he wonders why people from all over are responding? Maybe because it's people like him that our choice to vape is under threat? Same goes for that ellen raff person. Seems like a helicopter parent to me.

It would be preferred if you didn't troll. We have to be careful about our image in the public eye. Even if the guy is holier than thou jerk, we don't want to come of as bullies who will attack anyone who makes claims against us.
