The guy in my local off license noticed that I'd stopped buying fags so I showed him my e-cig. He was really impressed because he was one of the people who knew how much I smoked as he sold me most of them.
After we had a chat I pointed out that if/when e-smoking becomes more common place that it could hit him hard as his shop relies on selling cigs. I asked him if he would be interested in stocking and selling starter packs, atomisers, carts and e-liquid and he said that he'd like to give it a go.
If he did sell them it'd be great for whoever supplies him because he could give details of the suppliers web site and products to customers. This would give suppliers a growing customer base.
It'd be great for him because he'd be the only place locally that sold the devices and refills. He'd need the price to be right though because he is running a business. I realise that for it to work he'd need to make a profit as well as there being enough profit for the supplier. I think that as he would give customers the link to the website it would benefit them anyway.
Finally it'd be great news for me. I could pop to my local shop to get a new atomiser or battery if I needed a replacement. Also I could buy without delivery charges too.
If a supplier is interested in supplying my local shop let me know and I'll pass on your contact details to him. He says that initially he'd like to stock a few starter packs to see how they sell but I think that it'd be a good idea for him to also have a few spare batteries and atomisers in case customers come back and say that there's isn't working. Otherwise he'd need to replace the whole starter pack instead.
If I had the money myself I'd get involved in selling and supplying. Also there are already several excellent suppliers and flooding the market with more could make it even more complicated. Also if the suppliers we already have get bigger and more successful it means a better future for us e-smokers.
