Just thought I would add something on the clones. I have purchased cloned kayfuns and authentic RDA's. For me it depends on the original price, if we are talking sub $80 for authentic, and only half that price for a clone. I will buy the authentic. I also agree with the poster that said if the clone was 1/4 the price it would be much harder to decide. I might buy the clone to try it out, and then replace it with the original if I liked it. Currently I have too much quilt, to pull a trigger on a cloned Odin as they are in stock and reasonably prices.
In the end, I am hoping authentic makers can find a way to keep RDA's around $50 or less. This is a hard task, but if it is a quality RDA China will have a hard time coming out with a clone below $25-$30. This should shut-down the clone market for all, but the tightest idiots.
Keep up the good work Loki Labs, and consider trying to find a way to bring it down to the $50 mark.
The only way to bring prices down to that low of a mark is by mass, automated fabrication, or, again outsourcing the making to cheap labor countries, like China. Automated fabrication would only bring prices down after quite some time as there would be a major investment in capital to get that going. If outsourced, you would lose a lot of control over the quality, and you might as well get a clone anyway. For being American made, and the quality of the product, the prices at Loki are totally fair and justified in my opinion, wouldn't warrant buying any clones of their products.
I've never bought, used or even seen (in real life) any type of clone and have zero intention of doing so.
I don't do B&Ms and don't really know any vapers other than those I've started (my mom and stepdad). My exposure / experience is limited to what I get from the forums and some facebook / Instagram interactions.
I like to keep it real.
I bought an HCigar Nemesis back when I was just starting out and getting into mechanicals. I wasn't about to spend over $200 on a battery tube and still won't. And the nemmy was rare to find. I'm glad I did that, because shortly thereafter, I found Reos, and that's all I have bought since. I bought an EhPro Atomic to practice bottom feeding an atomizer. I wasn't about to try that on an authentic atty at over $100. But I won't buy clones just to buy clones. I paid good bucks for my VA Cyclone and AFC, which I have now traded for a second Odin from someone who really didn't like it (plus some cash on his part), I have a divo, and RM2's, and others. I also don't do B&Ms, and I don't know any other vapers around here. My total exposure to the vaping world has been right here at ECF. At this point, if I find something I really want, but is a little expensive, I'll just save for it rather than getting a sub-standard clone.
