so i just got my yetti yesterday and i love the vapor production but i have this awful burning taste. i looked in the atomized and in the middle of the bridge is this greyish hair like cloth. im pretty sure its suppose to be there but i noticed alot more on one side than the other so i centered the bridge and used a safety pin to sorta comb at the extra on one end. its so long that i can brush it up out of the atomizer by a few mm. is it okay to trim this? maybe thats the burning tastes that some users here are getting. at first i thought it was the primer fluid. but there was another taste thats passed it was a bit like popcorn and i believe that that was the primer and has since dyed off.

-------edit---------

i just tried out the other atomizer and i thinks its the hairs. this one dosent have excess on either side and the buring tastes is not present. so im gonna trim the hairs and see what happens.

-------edit again-----

other atomizer is giving off burning too so it must not be the hairs. i gutted a cart and dripped but i still get the same burning taste. i even cut the plastic back a bit so that its no where near the atomizer (in case it was touching and burning) but still burning.

i took the atomizers and cleaned them with 195 proof liquor (golden grain) and blew them out dried them and cleaned the atomizer and battery connections. but still no reduction in buring taste.

ive also noticed that i get occasional leackage between the atomizer and battery when i let it sit for a moment.

Have you replaced the cartridges since you noticed the taste? Did you get it immediately, or after you had been vaping for a while with each atomizer?

If you have fluid leaking out the sides, the carts may have gotten hot enough during prior sessions to fuse the fibers in the filling material so that it doesn't wick properly, causing the liquid to pool at the top of the cart, and then overflow when putting the cart back onto the atomizer after topping off.

This could also explain the burning... hot enough to fuse the cart fibers probably means it got dry enough to start burning that material you see sticking out the side. They don't need to be exposed to burn, and there are many reports of this inner wick sticking out on brand new atomizers, not all of which experience this burnt taste.

Replace the cartridge if you haven't already, drip a couple of drops (no more) onto the atomizer bridge while doing so, and let it sit and soak in a few minutes before trying to use the 510 again.

If you have manual batteries, don't hold the button down for more than 4-5 seconds or so. Remember to drag smooth and easy, not hard or sharp. And if you start to get a faint plasticky taste, top off or change cartridges.

Hehehe...I got a free sample of JC Tobacco flavor juice with my Dura-C purchase last month. After I used the crappy crap, I got a dry burnt flavor that lasted on my atty for 3 days. Cute little bottle though.

If I were a noobie, I'd be pulling out my grey hairs. Hehehehe

Interesting. I use JC tobacco (among other flavors/brands) on a 901 SD (4.2-3.7V) and passthrough (pulling 5V, very carefully), and I the only time I get "a crappy burnt flavor" is when I let the cart run too dry.

I also don't believe it's the cart fibers burning -- but rather the atomiser element itself, running dry. If it were the cart fibers, you'd expect to see some singing/blackening on same, but I've never seen that.

I have noticed that both the carts that I have used since I opened the package yesterday - have melted on the sides. I can take pictures. I am not sure how am I going to fix this issue, but what I`m sure is that the buring taste is coming from the melting carts8-o8-o:-x

if your burning your carts your bridge may be off center. grab a pair of tweezers, look inside your atty and center the bridge. you also may want to clean your atty as well since it may still have some cart plastic on it.

if this dosent help with the taste, try dripping onto the atty with a topped off cart. if this dosent help you might be in the same boat as me which im beggining to think is just flacky attys. ill know for sure later on today if/when my janty dura-c attys get here.
