In the first line you said you were "head of the Head of the" either you are in charge of the Head of the Long Island Vapers Club or you typed "head of the" twice. Other than that nitpicking I thought it was great and wish you all the best in stopping this ban. :)

Ooops :) See.. I should not write too early in the day... my peak hours are 10pm-3am :) Thanks guys! I already sent it now so any other suggestions will not be too useful.

They posted their documentation and we criticized it saying it would not include VG liquid or no nic liquid and so we had a way around it and they CHANGED their proposed legislation to cover that as well!!!! We need to shut the hell up and do something about this instead of giving them suggestions!

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Disregard the other stuff I said.. their office wrote back and they will meet with us tomorrow... this is a step in the right direction. Now I just need to find a dress suit and a collar that is less offensive than the ones I usually wear!

A) “E-CIGARETTE” shall mean any electronic smoking device composed of a mouthpiece, heating element, battery and electronic circuits that provide a vapor of pure nicotine mixed with propylene glycol to the user as they simulate smoking. This term shall include such devices whether they are manufactured as e-cigarettes, e-cigars, e-pipes or under any other product name.

B) “LIQUID NICOTINE” shall mean any liquid product composed either in whole or part of pure nicotine and proprylene glycol and manufactured for use with e-cigarettes.

OK here is where you get all scientific on them.

You can NOT vap nicotine. The chemical is destroyed at a specific tempurature that is well below the heating element.
In other words they have the wrong chemistry.

You are gonna have to find the site the describes all this chemistry.
I saw it in the forums, and if I can find it again I will post it in here for you.

The Smoker's Club, Inc. Encyclopedia 16

Happy hunting on this!!

Guys... please do NOT make any suggestions as to ways around their wording!!! They are reading this and changing the wording of their legislation as we make suggestions on ways around it!!!!SERIOUSLY!!!! Read what they have changed already!!!

To all.. thanks for the suggestions and help. I will be calling them today... the meeting will be postponed until next week I think.

The protest is off unless they refuse a meeting with us.

To all, they seriously are reading this forum changes are being made as we post...how bizarre...
Well, they need to figure out that by banning ecigs, they will be condemning people to continue smoking regular cigarettes (since quit smoking treatments have a 95% failure rate), which in turn means condemning them to all the horrible side effects involved with cigarettes.

All they have to do is to set a minimum age of sale for the ecigs, which most vendors are already enforcing without being legally required to. If their argument is that setting a minimum age of sale doesnt work, then by the same argument they need to ban the sale of all tobacco products, all nicotine-based stop smoking products (the patch, gum, lozenges, etc), and all beer, wine, and hard liquor.

As for their argument about the flavors being targeted to kids - there is proof out there that the average age of an ecig user is 44. And, if the flavors are intended for kids (as they claim), then by that same argument so are things like peppermint schnapps, peach schnapps, apple martinis, banana daiquiris (sp?), pina coladas, wine coolers, sangria, and any other sweet, alcoholic beverage.

I still wonder if there is a mandatory minimum age for the sale of nicotine patches and nicotine gum in that county; from my understanding not all areas have any sort of age restriction on 'em.

Only postponing our meeting with Cooper.... Vapers Club meeting is on and is good! Info is at www.VapersClub.com

7pm same location.. you have my # in case you can't find it.

Spikey, It's not out of the norm for them to postpone the meeting until just after they pass their ban. Be careful!

Government likes to pass unpopular laws as feat accompli more often then not. Half the time no one notices the law has been passed.

If this is true, then there is nothing you could say or do in a private meeting with them to convince them that what they want to do is wrong.
Any info you wish to give them is all right here on this site right in front of their eyes. my .02

I disagree, being able to look into ones eyes and speak the truth to them can have an effect, if they just read this forum, we are faceless nobody's if we speak in person, we become real people. The tiniest of things can change someone's perception and influence their decision's.

And we have everything to lose if we don't try. In the end all we can do is try, if we do nothing all is lost.
