Hey guys!

I'm new here and decided to join after finding you website while searching for answers to my e-cigarette questions. Maybe you can help!

First off, I've used all types of e cigarettes, including variable voltage mods, egos, and mechanical mods with rebuildable atomizers.

Right now I have 2 things that I need a little help finding the answers to.
If there are links or articles that come to mind that might help me, feel free to add them.

I am new to rebuilding coils and all that, and I frankly have not been able to find a website or article that teaches you, from a 'dummies' perspective (think 'Rebuildables for Dummies') the basics, including all the terminology or lingo. Easy to follow websites that do a good job teaching how to build your coils to a specific measure (I want a .2 ohm dual coil build using 24g Kanthal, any specifics on how to do that would also be appreciated), how to calculate or find the voltage/current/resistance/power/watts/amps of your build, basically just an overall guide to rda building.

{MODERATED}

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks all

Hi, if your looking to learn how to build YOUTUBE is a excellent place to teach you step by step instructions. If your interested in a particular rebuildable atomizer say, billow for example, search on YouTube "how to build billow atomizer " you will find several tutorials online. Or you could search basic coil winding. Or making micro coils. You will find plenty of videos avaible. However it's more than just coil making. You will need to have a understanding of Ohms Law. You can find apps that are ohms law calculators if you don't care for math. Just plug in your numbers and it gives volts and amps that your pulling with your build. You must know your amps because you should NEVER exceed your batteries Amp limit. You will need a ohm reader for each build as well. I do NOT suggest you try to Sub ohm (going under 1.0 on your builds) until you have a complete and total understanding of Ohms law and why you need to know it. I suggest you start slowly as you learn you can progress. As far as wax, I only vape liquid so I won't be much help there. I hope this did help a bit. I wish you the best.

Hello and welcome to the forum Greeley. Glad to have you here!:)

We can address you 1st question. Your 2nd question violates ECF's terms of service.

Since you are new to mech mods or rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding battery safety, Ohm's Law, CDR (continuous discharge rating/Amps) and how they all fit together are listed below:

BATTERIES

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

REBUILDABLES

Information Resources for Your First RBA
* An essential read and reference guide for someone new to rebuilding coils. Includes a multitude of useful links on battery safety, mod safety, coil meters, coil building, and the differences in the three types of RBA's.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics
