Hello,

I have been vapin' for a few months now and have did some rebuilding. I get some good vapor. Some friends told me rebuilding is awesome if you know how to build correctly. I can build coils and stuff like that but i figured i might as well buy an ohmmeter just to be safe, but i'll be honest, i don't know where to start.

I purchased a smoktech magneto and an ohmmeter. I have a nimbus rda, 28 gauge kanthal, and organic cotton.

What i want to know is, what is the perfect ohm to be at? Not sure if there is such a thing but yeah i know hardly anything about ohms, watts, voltage. Like i said, i have a mechanical mod (Smoktech Magneto).

I usually do 6-7 wraps with 28 gauge. What size of bit should i use?

I use a sony 18650.

So yeah, what do you guys recommend i should do? How many wraps, size of bit, what ohm should i not go under or over? Personally, i want to sit down and enjoy a good vape. I do not want to worry about the battery exploding because of a bad build. I am asking all of this because i could not find the perfect forum where people had to same questions i had.

Like i said, i need some knowledge and i am willing to learn. I know i am not experienced enough for those variable voltage/devices and the tanks just don't cut it anymore (except the nautilus aspire). So yeah, i got an ohmmeter now, i do not have to make a build and have that thought it the back of mind that the battery will explode or atleast you guys can reduce the risk for me.

Thanks guys.:)

Do a YouTube search for the Nimbus RDA. You'll get numerous hits on different coil builds with different types of wick material. Here's just an example:

You didn't say whether you got an ohm reader or digital multimeter. YouTube is great for tutorials for that, too.

How to use an Ohm Reader

After measuring your coil, prior to test firing it on your mod, use the Ohm's Law Calculator just to make sure your battery can handle the amp draw from the coil. (Always use 4.2 volts as voltage) If the current (amps) is higher than your battery's continuous discharge rate in amps, start over and build a different coil with more wraps to increase the resistance.

It's an Atomizer Ohm Meter by Siglelei. Yeah I searched YouTube but it would always to videos for electricians and wiring lol. Thanks for the feedback its much appreciated. I want to get cloud production like Mr. Rip trippers but he is way experienced. Also, does a dual coil draw way for battery life rather than a single (sounds obvious but i'm not sure). Again, thanks for the feedback, i'll look into those tutorials.
