Long time vaper wondering what is causing recent throat irritation!

I've been vaping for about 2+ years now and it has saved me from a 20 year tobacco addiction.

However lately I am waking up with a soar throat. I am a DIY vaper and this never happened before I made my own juice. I'm wondering if I'm putting in too much PG or too much VG and causing irritation. I've been doing a 40/60 PG/VG mix. Which of the two chemicals is more likely to irritate the throat?

Another reason this may be happening: I recently lowered my nicotine dose so I may just be taking more hits than usual but it doesn't seem that way. I don't vape nearly as much as some people I know.

Any info/opinions on this subject would be appreciated.

How long is "recently"? If you're waking up with a sore throat, that sounds more like night dryness, possibly from snoring or breathing with your mouth open. Just my opinion, but if it was vaping related, it seems more likely that you'd start the day feeling OK, and get progressively irritated the more you vape.
