Longer wall charger cord solution

I wanted a longer cord for the wall charger and with me being a pack rat for anything electrical, I found printer power cord is the same. Also the one off an old cable box works. And found of few others I have no idea where they came from. At least now my charger is on my desk where I can access it easy.

My outlets are the typical foot off the floor with the exception of my kitchen. The ones I would use to charge are not places where I would put a power strip so it would be nice to have a chord to reach the tables.

Why don't you just get an extension cord from WalMart?

They're used to dealing with it. Plug adapters are very easy to get over there. Of course, the more electrically inclined can cut the US plug off and install one of their own.

Yea, I lived in Athens for 2.5 years and Germany for 6. I also had many short trips to other European countries, as well.

Yea I've been there a few times, but never brought any electrical equipment with me, beyond a battery powered electric razor. The adapter makes sense though.

Quick related question. Is it OK to leave the charger plugged in 24/7 (without the batteries inserted)?

You can leave it plugged in 24/7 with or without a battery in it (assuming you're referring to the V4L wall charger).

The charger and battery make a smart pair. They know when they need a charge cycle, and do so. As should be true with any LiION charger.

Along with component stereo systems, shelf-top stereos, many battery chargers, consumer sewing machines, old percolating coffee pots, some of the more expensive VCR's, LCD monitor power bricks, printer power bricks, some fax machines, ...

It's a "universal power cord", which really means "if you need two prongs and need 'em under about 5A, pick this cord"
