Im using VIP ecigs (the ones that look like normal cigs. think they're called cartomizers) but the cartridges are costing me nearly as much as normal cigs

im looking to buy one of the refillable one (the ones which you can put the liquid in yourself.)

As you may be able to tell, i don't know a thing about ecigs so was looking for some help in which one to buy

my budget is £60

can anyone recommend a good one that will allow me a decent throat hit. i tried the EGO-CE4 but got almost nothing from it but flavor. (no desernable throat hit at all)

thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Can you post a pic of your current setup? I tried looking up the VIP battery you mentioned, but I can't find anything in particular.

If it's one of those ecigs that look like a regular cigarette, you'll probably want a single coil, low ohm cartomizer, maybe something like this. Aside from that, the nicotine content in the juice you're using. The higher nic, the more throat hit in general.

Your 60 euro budget is more than enough for a good cartomizer, or even a few different things just to try (on your current battery, that is).

I think that is about $90, right? I would recomend an Ego-C Twist or Ego-V. These are variable voltage batteries so you can change the strength of the output. If a hit is "too weak" then you just up the voltage. Also, the delivery system is what mostly decides the "hit" you get from the liquid. Make sure you get a decent cartomizer or atty to go with it. What ever you buy, make sure it is variable voltage and dont go cheap on the delivery system, you will enjoy the vape much more. Good luck and welcome to ECF

Halo Triton. I was blown away after using it after cigalikes. They aren't too large- 14mm long from the bottom of the 650 mAh battery to the tip, and 1.3 mm wide. Great flavor, throat hit and easy to use. The starter kit runs about £43.
Here's a detailed review-

I second this. I am using Halo e triton and their flavors (Tiki Juice, Midnight Apple, and BELGIAN COCOA). I didnt like their Java but I didnt let it steep at all. I just ordered some other brands flavors to put in my Triton (about 30 different ones).

Sure mate. Electronic Cigarette Executive Starter Kit - E Cigarette Kit that is the one im using at moment, i use their double menthol refills (2.4% per ml) and it gives me a tiny throat hit. at saying that, they are the only ones that do. all their other stuff tastes awful and has no hit what so ever, maybe iv got a tough throat, haha.

Hi and thankyou for the welcome :)

£60 is probably somewhere in the region of $90 but we have to pay outrageous tax here so it probably closer to $70

Remember you can add cartomizers to your halo rechargeable. Im sure other brands do it too. There convenient to try flavors on without using a tank to try it. Sorry if this was mentioned

I also use the mini G6 tanks to test out new flavors, before I commit a flavor to a Triton tank.

There are blank cartomizers available that you can fill with your choice of e-liquid, however the trick will be figuring out what thread-type your batteries are first to find something compatible. There are 808 and 510 threaded batteries, and also batteries which use a proprietary thread custom made for their product to keep you using theirs and not switching to a competitor's.

My suggestion, if you are truly intent on quitting cigarettes, is to upgrade to a better setup like Seagull recommended. An eGo Spinner or Twist setup will be much more satisfying and will keep your desire to continue upgrading to a minimum. They are larger than your e-cigs that you now have, perhaps the size & length of a long cigar.

A typical eGo setup: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...06-4-good-starters-setup-beginning-vapor.html

There are other options to put on your batteries than cartomizers. Some are even easier to fill and use. Here is a primer on juice delivery devices: E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs

I actually haven't had an 'analogue' cig since xmas so im pretty good on the quitting. The VIPs have alot of flaws besides the price, battery lasts about 2 weeks before becoming very weak and charges lasting approx 50-60 draws, tops, refills last me about a third of a day (£10 for 5), leak alot (had quite a few upset stomachs), etc

the size of the kit doesn't really bother me in the slightest, i started smoking on Cubans so cigar size doesn't bother me. haha.

Ill take a look at the Halo trion and EGO-V and see where it gets me, will report back, thanks for the help.

Welcome eightshot.

You will no doubt get lots of recommendations for US products sold on US websites. They (things like Halo) might be good, but you can forget about getting stuff over here....the "extra" charges will cost you.

Sorry to hear about the VIP e-cigs....these products are so costly to use, I know 'coz I did it.

Do you want to stick with mini look-a-like sized e-cigs OR would you be happy using an eGo battery?
Can you see yourself vaping quite a bit?

Chances are you tried a simple ego battery (unbranded?) with a CE4 clearomiser. The "hit" will depend on the power of the battery and the e-liquid etc.

I bought a Riva kit (after my failure with a certain brand)....one of these

The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

If you got a kit like this, and bought some Juice (e-liquid) you can decide if you prefer cartomisers or clearomisers.

While you're going to get much better quality by switching to something like an eGo, you can refill cartomizers to save yourself a bit of cash. I've actually just found a way to quickly and easily refill them that doesn't require you to try and pop the caps off. I've got a couple juices that have a tendency to burn out the atty, so I'd rather use it in one of the "disposable" cartos than one of my good tanks.

Since you mentioned cigars, I was impressed with Phil's review of this new model from Vapor4Life. I have never seen it or used it, but I trust Phil's reviews:
