Hi there I'm new and don't have my reo yet. It's a mini 2.1. Would this be something that replaces the black button on the top?
Is it merely for looks? Does it take the place of the button? Or just attach to the top of it?
Just for looks and a larger surface to press on. Does not replace the current button, merely fits on top.
I believe it will come with a piece of string. Lay it over the button on the mini and place new cap over and push down tight. You will want to be sure the button is turned all the way clockwise so it is locked.
I have been carrying my all week with the brass button and it is secure. I imagine if you get rough with it that it would pull off but normal use is not an issue.
Mine gets beat around a lot and I haven't lost a button cover yet. They will also help keep you from pressing the button farther down than you should.

It's a tight fit and stays on, but is still removable so you can do a rebuild if you ever need to.
