I love my smok Tech 3.5ml tank, and just ordered 2 more of them a couple days ago. (Same design as the one you pointed to only the smaller version.) Keeps the carto moist and cool (acts like a heat sink). Only have problems with thicker juices like 50/50 or more VG not getting through the carto-hole fast enough. Looking into purchasing a carto punch to fix this for those thicker juices. Works flawlessly for me on 70/30 and 80/20 blends. The metal caps are worth the extra couple bucks over the Delron though IMHO.

My V2 has a more muted flavor no matter which head is used. The airflow was tighter than 2.5. It was a lot different for me.

If the flavor is more muted with vivi over the carto tank I don't see how it could be close to dripping? Boge carto in a phiniac has no plastic and has much more flavor than any if my novas or stone tanks.

Again ymmv but I think that the vivi's are over rated.
I have several of both the V2 and V2.5 Vivi Novas. Other than the wick length and tank material, they are absoultely identical. I've measured every dimension and hole size in both of them. I've inspected them under high power magnification trying to find anything that would warrant the claim that the V2.5 is somehow better. There is no logical reason that the draw should be any different. The body and air paths are exactly the same. If you are noticing a difference between them in terms of draw, it is either a PV issue, or you got a defective unit.

A Boge carto contains polyester filling. Polyester is plastic. I have Stone tanks v2 and v3s. They are less muted than the Vivis, but they're leaky and prone to flooding. Either of them taste cleaner and closer to dripping than any filled carto. I DIY juice, so I can also make it a little stronger and that compensates for any muting. I can compare my Boges side by side to my dripping atty's and both the Stones and the Vivis taste closer to dripping than a carto with, or without, a tank to feed it.
Also the nova burnt out two batts and springs on Grimm greens silver bullet.which is my main mod ATM. So a safety factor could be there as well
The Vivi V1 had a well known problem with the center post protruding. It also had an airflow problem with the air holes located in the edge of the bottom cap. The center post problem could have caused a short if not corrected. Both these problems were fixed on the V2 and V2.5. I suspect that Grimm's review was on the V1. At any rate, a carto is just as susceptible to the kind of issues that cause a short, namely mislocation of the center post. The QC of cartos is no better, and probably worse, than the QC of something like the Vivi. The Vivis are highly regarded because they perform well and are not dependent on the quality and performance of a cheap carto. The thing about a carto tank is that, at the end of the day, you're vaping with the same plastic filled $1 Boge carto, no matter whether it's wrapped up with a $10 DCT or a $60 Big Daddy.

But if that is what someone prefers, then so be it. Again all of my posts have IMO and ymmv. In my experience the novas sucked. All of mine were muted and had different draws. Trimming wicks should not need to be done IMO. Tipping the tank is just plain stupid to me. I prefer a "plastic" filled carto in a tank any day because it tastes and performs better....for me.

Phiniac tank for the win! Never has leaked on me, I've dropped it more than enough times to worry me!
Not a leak ever , always good, Well worth the money, the only carto-tank i will ever buy again!

I know its pricey for a tank but man is this a great tank! Make sure to grab a tank tool and make refilling
even easier :)

And another plus is any juice can go in there, nothing will crack your tank!

I tried the vpx tank from nHaler. I thinks its glass. Not sure. Anyways it doesn't leak at all and is well made. Very simple for someone new to tanks. Make sure you order the 3mm sized punched cartos. They work great for me. 100% VG or PG. I haven't had to punch one yet. Feeds very well. Works for me. But its your likes that you will eventually figure out has nothing to do with everyone else. Sucks but sometimes trial and a little bit more error guided me.

I use the Vivi Nova 2.5, not only does it not leak, but because I can rebuild the heads it costs me well under what a carto tank winds up running. Not to mention then I don't have to worry about filling the last carto just to find out it is dead. The head on my nova needs to be replaced, it takes me a few minutes.

As far as the flavor being muted, I haven't had that issue with the Nova, but if you read through the forums you will see where people say that about anything compared to dripping. Some prefer cartos some clearos. It is nothing more than personal preference for anyone.

As the tank has nothing to do with the flavor of a carto tank, I would suggest getting a clearo and a carto and trying each, decide which you prefer then make your tank choice off that.

As far as filling goes, the Vivi Nova's are easier to fill than *MOST* carto tanks.

So what's with the submarine cap thingy? looks like it would get in the way.
I have a ViviNova v2.5 with the aluminum sleeve and the Mom and Pops Mini Sub.

I like both of these tanks, with the aluminum sleeve on the Vivi.. you can run any juice you want without the fear of ruining juice, cracking plastic, or just flat out destroying the plastic shell. I feel the flavor is better with the metal sleeve compared to the plastic imo. You can also buy some nichrome wire and some wicking material and rebuild your own wicks and coils for almost nothing. No leaks, No issues so far with the ViviNova 2.5, and It holds 2.8ML to 3.0ML. Vision Vivi Nova Tank System (Revision 2.5) Metal Sleeves here.. ViVi Nova Metal Tanks

The Mom and Pops Mini Sub is also a great tank If you like cartomizers. This tank holds around 3ML(including what you put into carto), plastic shell. The feature I like most about this tank is that It has a fill hole with a thumbscrew on the side of it. This makes refilling the tank a cinch, and also acts as a pressure release If your having wicking issues with the cartomizer. I run Boge 2.0ohm on this tank flawlessly.. no leaks, no issues. Tanks - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop Replacement cartos here.. Cartomizer Prepunched - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop

there is also the J-Tank. I have never tried it, but I just might because people say It's pretty darn good. http://www.electronicstix.com/J-TANKS-c117/

These are both quality tanks imo for under $20. worth a look If you ask me.

So....since I last posted I have tried the Vivi Nova 2.5, the Mini Vivi Nova, the Mini Submarine Tank from Mom and Pop Vapor Shop, the J-Tank, the Stardust clearomizer, and the E1 ReLoad from GotVapes. I wanted to like the Vivi's, but the taste was there in the beginning, then tapered off and I gave up on them. The same goes for the Stardust and the E1 ReLoad. I have had the best luck with the J-Tank, and I made the USMC JonBoy LavaTank list this time around, so I am waiting to be picked out of a hat and get an email about that.. The SmokTech DTC absolutely sucked. It leaked everywhere after awhile, and I have no patience for clean up all day long. And who wants to re-wire their own coils? Not me. The idea is great, but until they make the thing useable right out the box, I don't want to try it again. I will try a couple more tanks before I spend the loot on a glass tank, but I think carto tanks are the way to go for me, YMMV. All this is IMO. I have a tank tool, and it makes for ease of re-filling, and I love the taste..(oh, and I'm using 50/50 juice, because I don't care about throat hit, and I want to throw clouds of vapor in the air..

Kathy from Bedazzles sells glass tubes, a lot of people with jonboyusmc tanks switch out their plastic tube for a glass tube. Kathy also sells her own end caps, so you can make a tank with her glass tubes, and end caps and your own drip tip. The glass tubes are beautiful and vaping from glass sure tastes better. Relatively inexpensive as well.
