The right mech mod is not what allows you to sub-ohm. The right battery is what allows you to sub-ohm.

The mech mod is just a metal tube. Hard to get that part wrong. The battery, on the other hand, is high tech voodoo hoodoo science magic. And I am being serious. Don't skimp on the battery.

That depends on the batteries.

18650 is just a size. It only means that the battery is 18 mm in diameter and 65 mm long. It doesn't say anything about the quality of the battery.

What he said, you are going to want a 20amp 18650 for resistances down to .4 and 30amp or better below that.

I own this one:

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1427800

It's a favorite, with a few caveats. The fact that it's aluminum+brass means it has very good conductivity, and is also surprisingly light compared to other mods I own. The fact that the locking ring is NOT reverse-threaded is a big plus for me.

The fact that the head is aluminum and 510-threaded means you really want to add a 510->ego adapter to protect the threads. I screwed it down as tightly as I dared. Just be careful with the threads! (I think you can get a replacement top cap from FT if you strip the original...) Also, the vent-holes are pretty small, so make SURE you're using a good battery!

As others have said, the battery (and the head) are more critical, but I like this mod.

The only thing referring to power i can find on them is2800 mah...am i lookin at the right # now? lol new to this

2800 mAh is the electrical capacity of the battery. In order to tell if the battery is suited, we also need to know the C rating.

Can you post a picture? Maybe somebody can help you identify the model.

If your plan is to sub-ohm, do yourself a favor and invest in some nice batteries. The batteries are what's doing all the 'work'...the mod is just a 'battery holder' for lack of a better term. I use Sony VTC4's and VTC5's......nice, 30amp limit so they can take almost whatever you throw at them...
