Loctite definitely works for the switch problem. I recently swapped my spring for magnets in the switch, but am still having a problem with the 'floating' pin. I am considering cutting the insulator on the top cap to let the pin sit higher as most of my stuff doesn't seem to make contact and the pin is as far up as it will go. Overall this is a great little mech, but I feel like there's an awful lot of tweaking necessary to get it to perform the way I want it to.

I have the Hcigar clone of the M16 from 101vape.com, and it's lovely. I was having the same problem with the firing pin coming loose, due to being unscrewed a little every time I used the locking ring. I figured tightening the pin onto the button would solve the problem, but with the pin screwed down all the way, the button won't push the pin up far enough to make contact with the battery. I googled the problem and found a comment on fasttech with a solution; the guy said to put a tiny piece of crumpled up aluminum foil inside the firing pin, smushed down into the bottom of it. This allows you to tighten the pin onto the button so it won't unscrew. I tried it and it worked perfectly! The foil doesn't need to get into the threads or anything, and it allows tightening without letting the pin get so low that it won't fire.

Thank you for this! I have been trying to figure out how to fix this problem since I got my Hcigar m16 like four days ago. I also saw the other fix but I like the foil ball better as the other way seemed like something that I could potentially mess up. I too had considered loctite like some of the other posters, but I was worried about screwing up conductivity. So thanks again!

Oh, and FYi, I LOVE my Hcigar m16 clone. In all fairness it is my first mechanical mod, and I certainly haven't held the original but I can tell quality when I hold it in my hand and this is a quality piece. I have no regrets whatsoever on this purchase.

This is so awesome. This is one of the coolest things about ECF, everyone getting together and sharing knowledge and tips about stuff.
So, a few people here have mentioned the floating pin on the M16. Just last night I was looking at another clone of the same mod online, and saw that it said it had a floating pin and wondered if mine did. No luck the first try, but I tried again tonight after revisiting this thread and discovered omg it DOES! I can totally fit my Kayfun on there now, completely flush! The pin is in there really snug, like, super snug - I mean, I'd hardly call it 'floating'. I had to push it down with the pointy end of my nail clippers, which is probably the best way since those threads are kind of delicate and you don't want to strip them. But it is adjustable. Thank you, ECF! You folks just added some new life to my M16 :)

Yeah, it's a floating pin, but doesn't float very much lol. Tightest floating pin I've experienced. Thanksfully it loosens up over time.
