caubry1989,

Don't let some of these replies discourage you. It can come off the wrong way.

What people are saying, in not so many words, is that using mechanicals and wrapping your own coils requires some research. It is extremely important to have a grasp of some basic concepts to ensure yours and others safety.

Please take the time to read through that thread link, and above all don't be afraid to ask questions. There are a TON of people here willing to help.

That being said, a mechanical with an RBA in the hands of a new user does make a lot of people nervous. Take the time to read up a bit and you'll understand why!

The sky is not falling, you can do it... it's not brain surgery.

Good luck Sir.

Seriously. Don't be intimidated by mechs. Learn some basic battery safety and go have some fun. They aren't exactly complicated.

look im not trying to say that mechs are bad... i think that people can... but... timing is key... there are points where... agh...

look, as long as people are safe its cool... i was just pushing that sub ohmers are not bad... but people not knowing what they are doing... is bad...

and the first post... well there is some more knowledge needed...

starting from ego -> regulated apv -> rebuilding -> mechanicals is a great way to go... but ego -> mechanical -> rebuilding... well that is a bit scary...

i dont know... be safe be safe be safe... know your stuff... read read read...

careful...

He was using an rba and im using a carto tank

Would you believe that I can make my carto tank and my RBA taste the same?

This is the part that keeps being left out of these discussions. So many go rushing into mechanicals & RBA's without any idea of what they want their vape to taste like yet. Kinda like getting the cart in front of the horse IMO.

You keep seeing people post that their RBA tastes so great ........ OK WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?!? With a little education you can make a RBA taste any way you want. Without that education you will just have to settle for what you get.

It is pretty simple, i have a nemsis clone from fast tech as I wanted to make sure i liked it before buying a real one. On top of that nemisis is a Kayfun from SvoeMesto. Tastes amazing to me! My wife on the other hand cant stand it, she likes the test of her bottom feeder, tank with replacable atomizer... Each person has their own taste buds and every appreciates tastes in a different way.

But as everyone else said, there are some safety concerns with mech mods and some knowledge that needs to be had before diving into it.

I went from an eGo, to a mech and a AGA-T, put me off vaping and back to analogs. I could never get the right amount of torched SS mesh and wire wraps to work correctly... always tasted like burnt metal, or shorted since it wasnt torched correctly. I read up, read up, read up, and read up some more. Finally broke the AGA back out wrapped it up and loved it, tried some ceramic wicks, loved parts of it... Now i have a Kayfun with a cotton wick, running at .9 ohms.

Do some reading, make sure you know what your doing, and go for it. Its not overly complex. Just read, and enjoy!

you can always play with RBAs on a protected device. The mech is basically a tube to hold the battery and a switch leading to the adapter. I just started messing with RBAs and am interested in mechs also but I am still learning...lucky for me i have a good vape shop near me that provided rebuilding classes and i know when i go to get a mech that they will hold my hand as long as needed.
