attomizers burn out.or get caked with juice residue. if cleaning does not restore it get a new one.
a new clearo is cheap really. buy several.
no big deal.

17 bucks a piece isn't cheap if they only last 2 or 3 weeks!

I'm in the same boat as the OP. Using a Vision2 EGO-T, I think it's called a Stardust as well. It sucks bigtime! Not enough vapor. Suck suck suck and little vapor.

I want something that is enjoyable to use. I don't want to suck so hard and so long...and get no vapor. All I get is a headache from trying to get decent vapor.

If I could find something that draws easy like a tobacco cigarette and has GOOD vapor I'd pay the money.

Hopefully this thread will continue because I think the newbs, like me, could save a bunch of money by not buying the crap I just bought.

Have you tried a new clearomizer/carto? I've read enough on here to know that attys, cartos, and clearomizers all have a 'usable lifetime', after which they stop performing satisfactorily, nowhere near how they did when new. Sometimes a cleaning will help, sometimes it won't.

Myself, I currently have a carto that worked reasonably for a few days, and has been fading off over the next few days. Some say I'm expecting too much out of a carto. A second ejuice is still doing fine in its carto (only 2nd day). I probably will switch out the first ejuice to another carto tonight.

I also have a couple of clearomizers, that seemed to fade off after a while. I cleaned them out, and brought them back to almost-new (not quite, but acceptable) performance. Might not reallly be worth the time it takes, but I'm still in the 'start-up expenses' phase, and need to budget carefully.

Based on my own experience and what I think you are looking for I will recommend the cartomizer/tank solution. I've had good experiences with myvaporstore.com and smoktek.com for this product. The only other supplier I got this from is totallywicked and the carto barely fit into the tank, I had to really force it, and I wouldn't try them again for that but I do like them for other supplies.

If you aren't intimidated and have the patience, it took me weeks, to learn to properly drip I'd say get a couple 306 low resistance attys and start dripping. That's where I'm currently at, except with my provari I prefer standard resistance. I use the low res attys on my 3.7 volt bottomfeeder. Tons of vapor and an easy draw.

Grrrr, I just went to thoroughly clean everything, and the top of the little dual threads (the wick? the stuff that soaks up the liquid) was burnt and black at the top.... I pulled on it and it came right off! So now I only have one set of the wires in that clear tank/clearomizer.

So I guess I overheated it in my quest to get a good thick vape...

What do I need to replace now? Can I get those separate and what are they called? It's a clearomizer tank, right? How can I be sure if fits my battery... I think I've see then online for really cheap (<$10), too.

So much stuff to learn :)

here buddy, just buy this and get it over with. http://www.vaporbeast.com/product_p/c31.htm

go and watch that youtube video that is linked in this thread so you see how to fill it. Its not hard and find that even newb like myself can do it right the first time. the video does a good job teaching you the steps.

Personally, I started with the vivi nova tanks and I love them! Just started using that boge tank this weekend and I love that too! but right now, im loving the boge carts more so than the vivi's and I have a ton a vivi's :D

cleaning the coil heads on the vivi's style tanks, stardust whatever variation you are using is work, and doing it properly is probably less newb friendly...

First, if you are paying 17 bucks for a stardust, you really need to shop around. I've seen them for as little as 5 or 6 dollars each. Go to the suppliers tab here on the forums and check out the shops listed there.

I started using the Vision 2.0 - it looks a lot like the stardust, but you can take it apart for cleaning, and you can replace the head when the coil gets gunked up or fails. It uses the mini Vivi Nova head. I get them here: Vision 2.0 Clearomizer He also sells the heads on the site.

Man, this... exactly. You sound just like me. When it works, it is wonderful and I don't need cigarettes. But I apparently burnt through the atomizer/clearomizer (still getting to terms with the, uh, terms) within a few weeks. I need one that is hassle-free and just works. It can't be non-existant, but there's just so much out there and not enough clear information. :) Well, that's where you guys come in ;)

Oh grrr, come on! I blew $75 on my first e-cig, the carto in the pic. That worked maybe for a week and then it produced crap vapour. It can't be that a $75 device will only work a few days to a week before its performance goes down. Same with the clearomizer tank, do I want to buy a new one every two weeks?

I wonder if that's the dark secret of e-cigs or if there really is this illusive e-cig that *will* work decently for a long time. ;)

You have a choice. When you posted in the "Ask the Vets" forum they thought you were using the atty/ cartridge system...
I suggest you start with the red below and work up...you can always add on a tank later for about $10.00.

Different delivery systems:
atomizer/ atty- an element on to which 3-4 drops of juice is dripped
cartridge/ cart- a container with sponge (filled with juice) that is used with the atty- juice drips on to atty from cart and is vaporized
cartomizer/ carto- metal tube with stuffing and element.
carto+tank- a carto with a hole punched in it. Carto is than placed in a glass, metal or plastic tank which is filled with juice- juice saturates carto by way of hole in carto.
Clearomizer- a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing.

I began with Boge single coil 2.9 ohm cartos, next Smok Tech 1.7 single coil cartos, next tank+ carto and now switch between Stardusts/ Viv Nova and carto+ tank.
With carto+ tank my cartos lasts before tight draw begins:
light juices= 80-90 ml
dark juices- 50-60 ml

I wanna just get this... it really looks like what I have. But how do I know it actually does fit? I mean, when I got an extra battery at the smoke shop, most of them would not work with my eGo-T, even though they look exactly the same and fit perfectly. They told me I need the "new" battery type. Sigh, there really needs to be some sort of e-cig standard...

I guess I can order this and see how it goes. It's cheap enough.

Just a little update: like I said, I cleaned my clearomizer and during that I pulled off one of the two wicks. However, with only one wick and a clean tank, it's really performing again! Loving my eGo again... I also ordered a Vision 2.0 clearomizer to see if that works with my battery. I hope it does, because then I can keep this thing going!

I didn't know these things have to cleaned/replaced... information about e-cig use needs to be made more available, lol. :)

Wait, what? Haha, I know the whole e-cig world can be overwhelming... I've seen other newbs say that on this forum as well. Things need to be easy, but then you get to the small battery cigarette look-alikes... Those are pretty much crap compared to the other stuff that is available, though. And more expensive.

Ignoring those, there are so many options. And what connects to what, exactly? I have a tank/clearomizer/atomizer thingie that I need a battery of x volt for and what's this about ohms and stuff? Once you buy one of these things, you need to know where you can get replacements/upgrades, etc. that will actually work. There doesn't seem to be a real standard here, and it's confusing.

Thaurin, all cartomizers, clearomizers and atomizers are considered disposable. Some last longer than others, but none of them lasts forever. The clearomizers like you have may last a couple of weeks or a couple of months or even longer. I've got some that have been going for 3 months.

That's why rebuildable clearomizers and Vivi Nova tanks are so great. You can re-build the heads or, if you're lazy like me, just buy new heads. Whoever said that replacing the heads is hard has never done it. You unscrew the whole thing to take it all apart (takes about 5 seconds), unscrew the old head (about 3 seconds), screw the new one on (another 3 seconds) and you're done.

Haha, well that's the weird thing, isn't it. My clearomizer didn't even last two weeks after I bought this thing for $60 bucks at a smoke shop in Rio Rancho... and nobody tells you this! So you're thinking that you may have blown away $60 on... hot hair (vapor?). ;)

I bought a cartomizer for $75 that to me now seems it's just a disposable cig that you can get elsewhere for $5, so I really feel cheated. They scammed me. I never for either one of my purchases got any instructions, warranty or anything except what I got from them verbally. I had to get my information from forums like this. I can't help but feel people are getting scammed out of their money on crap all over the place getting them to buy stupid stuff.

But when my eGo works, I really like it.

I posted earlier that I fixed my cartomizer. It worked for hours, and now it's not producing a lot of vapor anymore. I have another Vision 2.0 cartomizer in the way, but this is just... not what you'd expect from a $60 device.

You know what I'm saying?

Oh, as for replacable heads, I think the Vision 2.0 clearomizer I orderd allows this, because I added a replacable atomizer thing with it for a few bucks. Price-wise it's not too bad, but will this thing even work on my battery? I just went and took the chance. There isn't a lot of good info out there.

It's trial and error. Which sucks.

hi Thaurin, JUST GET THAT
DONT BUY ANYTHING AT THE SMOKE SHOP
AND GET SOME SCREW ON COIL HEADS FOR THAT
AND BUY ANOTHER EGO-T BATTERY
AND DONT BUY ANYTHING AT THE SMOKE SHOP
anything that says "ego'' or 510 threads will fit your ego-t battery. But, it doesnt hurt to get a spare battery when you place your order in order to try to get free shipping.
Good luck

Well, that's the thing. That turned out to be not true. I had an eGo battery, same size, it said "eGo" on it just like mine, and it didn't work with the clearomizer. There was no indication whatsoever why this would not work.

I just hope the Vision 2.0 clearomizer works... then I'll just stock up on those.
