I just bought the 3320 from wal mart today. Works great. I bought the 4.99 one from harbor freight and it works on volts. Its 3 ohms off on the Rez. O well. Its not worth the gas money to return the thing.

Exactly right. I needed one and I happened to be at Harbor Freight already. Wasn't complaining as I really just needed an extra one to test batteries for my office.

Harbor Freight has them on sale this month for $3.99

It's a CEN-TECH unit. I use the same one and it's great for voltage. Can be a little dodgy if you're trying to get an exact OHM reading from an atty or carto but it certainly works and for $4 I can't complain about it...

I bought one of those a couple weeks ago, doesn't always work and finally pitched it.

Don't feel bad. I have a Fluke T5-1000 (around $100) that won't even read ohms correctly. But my Fluke 787 process meter is spot on. Better be, it was $650.00. Harbor Freight one should be fine for anyone who just wants to get a volt reading (or basic home stuff).

AFAIK T5 is not a "true" multimeter, more a current clamp. I dont recall the exact specs, but i'm quite sure it's not designed to read resistance :)

Could be, does a good job on amps, just can't seem to fit the clamp around those tiny coil wires :) :) :)
