Title of the thread says it all.

Right now I am vaping with a Mistic (gas station ecig). Before folks say ick lemme tell you this .... has a battery life that puts the Blu to shame ($7 compared to $70). The problem with the Mistic is that the threads on it are not compatible with parts I can get on line.

So I am asking some vets out there for a good low cost battery that holds a charge forever and a day. I don't care if it is manual or automatic. I'm basically looking for a work horse model that won;t cost me an arm and a leg.

Yeah, the Riva lite kits, at about $30 after using LF discount code, are a great price. The Rpoughstack or Maxi Roughstack also are really popular, if you can go to about 2x the price of the Riva Lite.

For the 3.2 - 3.7V range, with 510 connector, try some boge 2 ohm cartomizers, a good starting point. If you're looking toward the Maxi Roughstack, higher voltage, look at 3 ohm cartomizers or atties.

(Usually a bunch of nice sales pop up starting Thanksgiving, too.)

Good luck!

Ego or Riva 510

Or go with a 510-threaded mod

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping with standard resistance atomizers or cartomizers (low resistance uses charge faster)

Blu is 90mah
Ego and Riva 510 are 650mah and higher as are most mods with protected Li Ion batteries (some small mods may be less than 650mah if you use AW IMR batteries which hold the voltage up better)

Do you want one that looks like a cig?

If you dont care what it looks like a bigger battery PV is def the way to go.

Like swedishfish suggested, the E-Power and kGo are great affordable PVs that have great battery life. I have the E-Power and love it. It uses non-proprietary batteries and I get about a day to a day and a half on a single battery, and you get 2 with the kit so youd really never have to worry about running out of power. Carrying a spare is easy bc the battery is about the size of a AA but alittle longer. The kGo is also a great PV that has long battery life too. It really depends what your looking for. The kGo uses proprietary batteries, like an eGo/Riva. The E-Power batteries cost $4, and the kGo batteries cost about $18. So its whatever your looking for, both are great. I personally liked that I could take the battery out of the E-Power so its easy to carry a backup with you. The kGo kit comes with 2 batteries also, but since their proprietary batteries, you basically have to carry a 2nd PV with you without a atty/carto on it to carry a second battery, which if that doesnt bother you then its def a great PV that has good battery life. The E-Power batteries are 1050mah while the kGo batteries are 1100mah, so both should be able to last you the whole day.

There are also a bunch of really nice tube mods. These use non-proprietary batteries like the E-Power.
Like someone mentioned the Roughstack. Thats a good tube mod thats only about $45 bucks. The regular Roughstack is pretty small and seems to hold up really well. If you get the Maxi RoughStack, while their alittle bigger, you can use different batteries and then would be able to vape at 3.7V, 6V, or 7.4V. If you get the RoughStack, id recommend getting the High-Drain batteries. They are alittle more expensive, but def worth it. The RS is unregulated so you will loose power as the battery drains. The High-Drains stay more consistant so you wont notice as big of a drop as the battery drains.
The SilverBullet is also a popular tube mod that uses non-proprietary batteries and can use different batteries for different voltages like the MaxiRS, but it is bigger than the RS. Its more expensive than the RS but I heard it holds up well and doesnt cause problems very often.

Personally I like the PVs that use non-proprietary batteries over a PV that uses prorietary batteries because their much cheaper and last longer before they need to be replaced, and its easy to carry a spare so youll never have to really worry about a dead PV.

There are many tube mods that are affordable. Many use the popular 18650 battery and youd prob really like one of those bc they have great battery life. The 18650 batteries are pretty cheap and many many vendors carry them.
With most of the tube mods, like the E-Power, Roughstack, and many others, you can get High-Drain batteries for them, which is nice to have that option.

If your willing to spend alittle more, theres some really nice VV tube mods that are popular. Obviously the Provari is really nice, but its also expensive and not everyone has the money to afford that, You can get a InfinityPro or BuzzPro from Notcigs and have a really nice VV tube mod that is a good bit cheaper than the Provari. The IPro is about $100, while the BuzzPro is about $130. Both are really nice and use non-proprietary batteries, that will give you good battery life. They also both have a dial so you can change the voltage easily. Youd be able to use pretty much any ohm carto/atty bc you could just dial it in to the perfect vape for you. Both also give you the option of choosing between different threadings for them so you could get what you want.
The IPro is skinnier and longer, while the BuzzPro is alittle shorter, but fatter.
Hope this helped!

Goodluck with it!

I ordered juice from BreezEsmoke and went back to look at some of their kids. Was wondering if I could get some sort of comment about them. Ramiya R2-750 Black Dual Kit and the SLB KGO-1100.

I know enough to be dangerous now. mAh would basically be how long a battery will last? I was a heavy smoker so the difference between a 750 and a 1100 would make a difference?

I also know for the most part it seems that vaping is a bit like coffee. Some people like Dunkin Donuts coffee and some like Starbucks. I can't stand the burnt taste of Starbucks, but I like dark roasts.

I am a pretty heavy vaper. I don't want to be dripping after only having a few drags. Say if I am driving from my place to Cleveland or Akron (about an hour and a half) and normally would smoke 5 or so analogs on the way I don't want to have to be pulling over to drip.

Sorry to be bugging ya'll.

+1 on the kgo!!

I have a Mistic too:vapor: For what it is and how cheap they are they're awesome. If you get the kgo and a 510-901 (Mistic is 808) you can use the mistic cartos on the kgo if you wanted to.

One of the models I am looking at is the kgo. Seems like getting an adapter might be the way to go too. Nothing sucks more than having a nic fit and not having anything around. Two places within 10 miles of me sell the Mistic carts.

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping with standard resistance atomizers or cartomizers (low resistance uses charge faster)
Blu is 90mah

Way cool.... one of the things I was wondering about, and should have checked out the second page before posting.

Goodluck with it!

Long battery life and inexpensive (not going to say cheap cause cheap also has a bad connotation). Looks like I am leaning towards the kgo. Seems like the way to go to start out with and then later on maybe upgrade to a unit that has a replaceable battery.

I know the freaking POS Blu seemed like it lasted for 15 minutes before crapping out. To me that's like having to stop the car to get gas every 2 or 3 blocks.

You guys have been a ton of help. I'm at the point where I am starting to know enough to just be dangerous (images of me running around a shed full of dynamite using matches to light my way). I got burnt by buying a Blu and don't want it to happen again. I'm happy with the Mistic for it's battery life but want more options.

Good one! That is one of the best comparisons I have read on how poor the Blu is. My guess is there are more people turned off to vaping by using a Blu than there are those like yourself who are smart enough to figure out there are much better options, unfortunately.

Started on the Misitic, and went to a Blu.... guess they named it Blu cause I blew $80 on a crappy product. The Blu coffee flavor wasn't that bad, sort of grew on me after not having it for a while. And got me wanting to try some flavors from folks who are on here.

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping w/ standard resistance atty or carto (slim ecigs only use standard res)

That will give you a way to compare how long each battery will last. The batteries 450mah+ can optionally use hotter LR low resistance (lower ohms) attys and cartos and those will also use the charge up faster - the lower the ohms, the more heat, and the faster the charge is used.

Funny and on the mark about the Blu. It's smart to start looking for a better model. The Kgo or E-Power 510 are a good next step for better performance and longer battery life. There are even better options in providing equally or even better battery life and definitely warmer vapor and better consistency than the ego types. At some point, I would look at a good 5 volt model such as the GLV2 or a good variable volt or power regulated model such as the Darwin.
