I currently have a provari and a patriot rda Have been staying well within the limit of the device but im looking for a mod that can handle really high draw batteries and do some flavour chasing. ATM im getting a really tasty hit not much cloud but it takes a bit of time to warm up on a 1.2 ohm coil at 4 v. Want something that will support a large coil like a 24 gauge with a more insant hit.

24 ga? That would be like wrapping a coil with a piece of rebar or something. What you want is 28,29,30 range. 24 would also take a million wraps and WAY longer to heat up, your problem would be solved if you go in the opposite direction on gauge from where you are. If you are using 28 as an example, go 29 or 30 for less wraps and faster heating.

All mech mods would suit your request, but you no longer have any safety at all.

The link should help some with all of the details.

something for short fast draws clone or real doesn't matter, been seeing some 24 gauge macro coils with no wick on you tube that looked really good and where very responsive was wondering what the safe way to do that was. Cause im doing it wick less I'm guessing I'm looking to increase surface area of the coil decrease resistance and increase volts???. That was just a guess still trying to wrap my head around it.

I'm vaping a Trident dual coil setup at 0.5 ohms (two, 1.0 ohm coils) on a Nemesis mechanical mod right now that does that extremely well. I use 28 gauge Kanthal and stay safe with Sony VTC3 and VTC4 batteries. That's about 24 watts average.

You can get the same performance out of a regulated mod that puts out those watts. You'll have to learn how to build the attys for that. I don't do that so I don't have experience with it. Rip Trippers has a bunch of videos on how to do it though and he really knows his stuff.

IMO you would do very well to do some research into high power vaping before you get started. CreepyLady posted a link to a thread with lots of great info in it. There is also 'One Stop Reference Shop For New and Experienced Vapers'. Pay particular attention to battery information, specially safety stuff.

You need to decide first if you want to go mechanical or regulated. Mech mods have no built in safety features and they have the down side that your vape will suffer as the battery voltage drops. High power regulated mods have all the safety features built in and keep your vape the same from fresh batt to empty. Rip Trippers prefers regulated. I use mechs, but there were none of the new crop of high power regulated mods around when I started. I would go regulated if I was starting out now.

Hope this helps a bit :thumb:
