How do I make one of those signatures where it says how long I've been a non-smoker, analogs avoided, $ saved, etc...?

Just click on that banner of someone else's and it should take you to a place to make your own.

you can only add a signature after you have posted so many times (in the new member info). but after that, i got mine from the vendors website. im sure other vendors do the same thing. casaa has some also on their site.

You have well more than the required 15 posts to be able to add a signature to your account. Several vendors have one available, as does ECF (see my signature for an example). To use the ECF signature banner, just click on Forum Actions (above), then click on Generate Sigbanner and follow the instructions there.
