Looking for a slighly warmer vape

I am running a RBT (the smok RSBT) on an eleaf istick... I had a single coil built to 1.2 ohm at 2 mm diameter, and the current one is a single 1.4 (28g Kanthal A1) wrapped at I think 2.6 mm...

What I'm really wanting is a warmer vapor, I think somewhere I lost that particular variable in my experience, and I'd like to get it back.

Is it airflow? Resistance? Coil diameter?

Any help appreciated.

I run both of my RSBT's at @.8 ohm and to me they are plenty warm.

Currently I'm using twisted 28 ga kanthal on both. One is wrapped at 3/16 and wicked with cotton...the other one is silica wicked and wrapped tight around 4 strands of 2 mm silica..(don't know exact measurement but it's near 1/8 if I hadda guess)

Don't know if your devices can handle that resistance...can't really help you there as mine are on mechs

Thanks for the input, all.

I'll re-wrap a coil closer to 1 ohm and see what that gets me, and will try swapping the pyrex drip tip (thick glass may be acting as more of a heat sink than I want it to).

And I've got my eye on replacing the iStick within the next couple of months. It has been a great first regulated mod, but I've learned what limitations it has and how to avoid them in my next purchase. My 'target' ohm rating will probably end up being around .8 when I can fire it. Good to know it's what I'm looking for.

I've been pretty good about keeping the coil up, but I may try to lift the new one a litle more...

It goes to figure that the closer it is to the cimney the warmer the vape should be, kind of like shortening the drip tip but on the other end.

Wicking with cotton now, left silica behind because the flavor has been better after the switch, and it's simple to replace.

Roger that. I've been tweaking and tuning my RSBT's for 5 months or so and just started playing with cotton recently.

I dunno why I waited so long ~lol~

I bought a 40 foot box of the "100% cotton" cellucotton for less than 10 bucks delivered and it works great. They offer both rayon and pure cotton varieties and I decided to use the 100% cotton.

Love it so far! Easy to separate into proper size strands and wicks like a champ.

Smaller wire would require a smaller (shorter overall length) coil to hit the same resistance number as larger wire however... compared to say the twisted 28 coils which I'm running at .8 ohms.

I've tried 32, single and twisted, 30, single and twisted, 28, 26 and 24 and for me anyway twisted 28 hits the spot for vapor production as well as vape temp.

Just my experience..yours may vary ;)
