Agreed on Ethyl Maltol. I also add menthol to my unflavored and a bit of peppermint can't be bad at a low %.

Another idea is finding a store-brand pre-mixed flavor you like, then mixing it into your VG. That's what I used to do before I actually started using flavors to mix.

Other ideas:

tobacco flavoring
Creamy flavorings?
Koolada

I did the math wrong and ended up at 2.5%. Not bad, but a little too much. I think your 1% recommendation was spot on

mix what you have right now 50/50 with VG and you'll have 1.25%, no reason to call it a mistake, just an oportunity to have twice as much of a good thing.

gofastman, lots of flavors taste fine at super-low percentages for barely-there flavor. All the mints do fine like that, as do light fruit flavors like apple, various citrus. Vanilla is another, and it would be complemented by the slight sweetness of VG.

I'd avoid anything complex or deep flavored, like chocolate, coffees, and tobaccos - those can taste really odd if they're too light.
