As far as I know, there's almost no difference in the taste of vg, or at least there shouldn't be if it's pure vg. I have seen a report or two that stated that food grade vg from palm was slightly different but I'm not sure if they done side by side comparisons or not lol. I haven't sampled a lot, but the 4 or 5 different ones I've used all tasted the same to me.

If you're not doing so already, I'd suggest adding 10 to 20 percent distilled water to your high vg mixes. That will freshen it up quite a bit.

To what? Don't know of anything that can take place of VG in mixes. Thanks for help.

Go back to the original, PG.

VG is VG. It does what it does and there isn't a replacement. I'm not sensitive to the sweetness of VG, so I can use PG and/or VG just to vary thickness of the liquid. If I was sensitive to it and didn't want the sweetness, I'd use just PG.

The NOW brand vg is made from palm leave and it is noticeably sweeter and thicker viscosity than medical or humco vg's..

Its hella sweet, vg's do have different flavors and viscosity. Its not a its vg they are all the same bucket. PG brand, Dow brand, and many others have about 8 different food safe compositions of vg.

Heres P&G glycerin page for example

Glycerin: Americas : : P&G Chemicals P&G Chemicals

I enjoy the sweetness VG imparts, and the viscosity and the cloud creation. I'm battling however what I believe to be the muddiness that it does. Adding water makes it too thin. There is a clarity I'm looking for ATM and I believe VG to be the culprit Not allowing for it.

Sounds like you want a cleaner tasting VG...IF you can get it, the P&G, like above, is my favorite for taste and viscosity.
