The only thing I can think is that you're somehow getting too much nicotine with the EMDC. I recently switched from clearo/tanks to those exact ones as well and have only had issues when doing "extreme testing" of new juices. They do tend to put out a little more than the CE2's, so puffing the same amount with a dual-coil as you would with a CE2 would most likely give you a slight overdose. Maybe try taking smaller puffs?

I would say that either the carto wasn't fully staturated with e-Liquid and the filler burnt or that they are just bad cartos.

When you fill a filler carto, you should let it sit for 5 minutes or so. Then put a paper towel over the battery end and give a blow thru the mouth piece.

If you do not get a small drop of e-Liquid on the paper towel the carto might not be fully filled and have dry spots.

I don't know why this isn't a common topic of discussion on ECF, and I have seen it come up on a couple of other vaping related forums:

Some devices do a more thorough job of vaporization that others. CE2's for instance produce a big cloud, but the droplets of vapor are larger/cooler than those from something like a boge 2.0 ohm. The dual coils (and, really, all varieties/sizes of multi-coil cartos) produce a very warm and well atomized vapor. It makes sense that warmer vapor made of smaller droplets would make it easier to absorb the nicotine.

I know that I vape less when I'm carrying a high voltage mod compared to when I'm carrying an ego or any of my 3.7v batts with a standard resistance atty or carto. I vape less with low resistance, too. I use just as much juice because it is consumed faster, but I need it less often.

This post and a few others in the same thread might be interesting to you

Sounds like nicotine overdose to me. I get nauseous if I vape too much, especially higher nic juices. I use a KR808D but also have a Go-Go, which I've found I need to fill it with lower nicotine juice, otherwise I get nauseous really quickly. This is pure speculation, but maybe some PV's are more efficient at vaporizing the juice, as someone suggested earlier. So maybe try lower nic juice?
