ok I'm making the jump to a dripper. I need some advise on where to go. What rda, or other suggestions, also looking for a new mod to go with it. should I go with vv/vw or mech.

I currently have a evic with aspire tanks, so I have some experience with this stuff but I'l be the first to admit I'm lost in the sauce with so many options and choices out there

I got the ehpro helios clone and a smoktech catperpillar RDA. Both are easy to build on and cheap for a newbie at building such as myself. So far so good, but with that being said I am not even close to as knowledgeable as most on this forum and take my words with a grain of salt.

I prefer VV/VW devices mainly due to safety for the most part. It is harder for me to blow my face off. Still possible, but at least there are some safety features there. I looked at mechs yesterday at the local vape shop. They were nice and I can see the appeal, but it was frustrating enough trying to find one that my Taifun would actually fire on because it has a short 510 connection. Me and they guy working there probably tried about 10 different mods with maybe 4 of them actually have a shallow enough connection after adjusting them to get the TGT to fire. Now that motivated me to order the new rDNA 40 so yeah I probably spent way more than I would have on a mech. lol

Since your not sure what you would prefer I would say start out with a small drip atty to go on the evic you already have. It would be more of a money waste to get a mech mod and find out you don't like drippers. I honestly prefer genesis tanks as I like flavor and can't use much vg in juice. However I do run a trident clone on my mvp2 daily, picked it up at madvapes for under 20 and can handle various builds, plus has adjustable airflow. On your evic I believe you would be limited to 1.2ohm builds but would be a good starting ground, then if you like you can look into a mech mod to go with it later.

I'm pretty happy with my Magma clone. It's got decent capacity, and allows for running single-coil on my MVP. I'm looking to upgrade to a higher-powered VW mod myself very soon (probably a DNA30 device), at which point I'll be able to dual-coil the Magma, but even with a single 1.6 coil it does very well. It's also nice not to have to fill it as often as other lower-capacity RDAs.

I've been doing some research (I'm about to make the plunge into rebuildables) and I'm going to go with the Magma clone by Infinite. No o-rings to mess with, deep juice well, and lots and lots of flavor. I've decided to not jump into mechs yet...I'll probably stick the magma on an istick and keep my builds over 1.0.

Now I just have to decide which metal for the AFC ring...loving the way the copper looks!

Magma is a beast.
Very easy to build and master.
Flavor is without rival.
Not a cloud chasing atty for sure, but definitely capable of getting you some (un)wanted attention if used in public.

TOBH is probably one of the worst recommendations for a beginner. While it does not look complex it is a complete PITA to build on and set up well.
Frankly it is also very dated as far performance is concerned as well. There are several attys that easily surpass it for flavor or clouds (and sometimes both) while being A LOT easier to build on.
