Hi Markgm, the general rule of thumb is that you should not leave these types of batteries on charge overnight or unattended. The type of charger may reduce the risk if you chose to charge this way, and use a charging bag. Go on Amazon and search for Li-Po Sack and you'll see several.

A quality charger and charging bag are good precautions to take at all times. I would seriously avoid leaving them charge like that at all costs if you can.

Thanks. I was wondering if there were chargers smart enough to know that the battery was fully charged or not, and they would stop charging, even when still plugged in. I mean, as long as it makes a light turn green, couldn't it be smart enough to stop charging?

Chargers are supposed to do this to reduce the risks. However - that aside there are still multiple possible failure points. Most are unlikely, but none are impossible regardless of charger and battery quality. I just make sure to have enough batteries so that I am not in a position to have to charge overnight. YMMV
