Today is 5 weeks since I quit killing myself and began vaping.

However, I did NO research when I began this venture and now realize there is so much more to it than I thought.

I am interested in getting a new setup and my search brought me here, and now I'm completely overwhelmed.

My biggest complaint with the njoy is the battery life and lack of flavor options.

What would you suggest I look into? Would like to keep it under $75-100 to start with. I often find myself having 1.5-2 hours sessions, so I need a battery that can keep up.

Can wait to learn a bit more about all of this. Thanks in advance for any help!

If you want to stick with a slim, more analog looking ecig that is 2 piece. You can try vapor4life, smokelessimage (Volt) or Bloog for their MaxxFusion.

For bigger battery life, you need bigger batteries. You can try an Ego or one of its clones to start out with. Check out liberty-flights and be sure to click the 20% of in the upper left corner. I got my e-power from them and am vaping it right now :)

if you still want slim, the two most popular options with longer battery life (just 70% longer or so)

510 mega xl manual and use blank cartomizers (Boge are most popular and slim ecigs use the 3 ohm ones). I do not recommend auto batteries if you are refilling cartos. 280mah and about 128mm long w/ a carto

KR808D-1 manual standard aka 78mm battery size for 120mm ecig with a carto - Either Vapor4life which is like the original manufacturer model (280mah) or the other style at SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6 (320mm w/ slightly less voltage of 3.6 vs 3.7) - and again I recommend manuals. Prefilled and blanks cartomizers available (I use thin juices like 80PG/20VG or less VG and can get a week's use out of a carto). There is also an extra long battery (quite long) for these but I think it does not fit in any PCC cases.

----

Beyond that are the fat batteries and I recommend the Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.com only (because we know theirs are the new 3.7v model)

Beyond that are mods

Ok, had a look around the past few hours, and here is what I'm thinking:

E Liquid 30ML - PG - Others Cherry - Medium - 14MG $13.59
Joye eGo Black eGo T - 650mAh Standard Kit $39.99
Anodized Drip Tips - Sliver $1.99

Am I missing anything? I like the idea of a drip tip, so thats where I'm starting.

Thoughts?

I always recommend a riva lite kit from liberty-flights (29.99) + a 15 pack of resurrector cartos ($21.50, free shipping + free driptip) from crystalclearvaping.com as the best pre-mod setup I've seen. Riva is an ego type, 750 mah. Comes with 2 atomizers (you wont use the cartridges, most people hate cartridges). The free driptip from the carto pack lets you drip onto those atomizers and compare it to the cartomizers (I'm a cartomizer person and the resurrectors are the best riva/ego cartomizer around imo).

Where is that juice from? I always recommend avoiding hardware vendors for juice and only using dedicated juice vendors. Some recommendations are rawrvapor for menthol (they have menthol options for EVERY juice and recommend it). Pinkspotvapors for drink flavors (former bartenders, try their tahiti breeze or pink spot). For value I like thevaporroom.net (4 juices on sale every week $10 for 30ml, and on weekends 1 juice 15ml for $5).

I'm not married to the small, slim unit. Performance over looks. Where can I go to learn how to refill and whatnot?

i'm new to the scene and purchased a joye ego t from liberty flights and I have to say its really nice , its slightly larger than a nice ball point pen and the 900mah battery seem to last a long time . The tanks are really simple to fill also.

Newer rivas are 3.7v but remember, as with all non-mods (and quite a few mods), voltage changes with battery charge. Voltage isn't the measure of battery life though, mah is (voltage dictates how hard it hits). 100 mah = ~1hr of vaping. The rivas are 750mah.

The setup I mentioned earlier will dominate your previous one, trust me.

I started out with the 4081. That lasted about two weeks before I upgraded to an eGo from Liberty Flights. And yes, it or the Riva, are vastly superior to the 4081. Due to the 510 threads on the eGo, all kinds of batteries, atomizers, and cartomizers work with them. My eGo has also become a Riva 510 because I bought the Riva 3.7V batteries, a mega eGo because I bought the 900MAH batts, and a SmokTech because I bought the batts.

try the epower kit. replaceable parts and usually can be found for under 50. have had mine for 6 months and still going strong. just remember to get some extra batteries (can never have enough) and an extra charger since the one they include is so so. They last up to a day or at least through my work shift for me and i am a pretty heavy vaper. or you can skip that and go for the madvapes Variable voltage box mod which is what i am looking to get next. good luck! and i forgot the threads are 510 so you have a lot of choices for atomizers and cartomizers and accessories.

I really don't get this advice. The person wants better battery life in their PV and actually states performance is more important than looks, yet there are two large paragraphs on more small battery models similar to what the OP has and only one line on only ONE truely better battery model and a half a line with no detail on the really better battery models. The emphasis is in the wrong place.

As some others have mentioned, a good "beginner" model with much better battery life that what you have is the E-Power/Riva/Ego models. Getting another small battery model such as the 510 or 808 will not help you much.

There are also models that provide much longer battery life and also provide much warmer vapor and consistency. These are the 5 volt and variable volt models. Here are some good, reputable sites that will help you out:

E-Power/Riva:

e-Power

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - E-Power

5 volt GLV2: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

Variable volt Darwin: Nhaler

ARGH! I can't wait for my kit to get here! Tracking # says I'll get it by Monday.

In the interim, I have made 2 DIY, no-nic e-juices. Went with a VG base diluted 10% with distilled water and 2 flavors of Lorann's, Pina Colada and Bubble Gum. I refilled my NJoy cartos and have been using them the last 24 hours. What a difference in vape! I can only imagine it'll get better with the Riva!

Can someone point me to a list of the "safe" Lorann's Oils? I keep reading to avoid colored flavors, but I have not seen anything set in stone.

Thanks!

reprisal and others are right on the money about Liberty Flights and the Rivas they sell...I chain vape and get around 7hrs from one....other recommendations are as follows
Rivas from Liberty flights
kGos from Hossierecigsupply(1100mah eGo/Riva style batts)
E-powers from either one of those(non proprietary batts...longer lasting and cheaper batts)
...if looks are not a concern...
RoughStak from Madvapes
GLV from Great Lakes Vaping
...good luck and Happy Vaping
