If you are going to go for a blu style e cig, after using a pen style, I would recommend Volcano instead. They are basically the same (L88B) model, but Volcano has way better customer service, super fast shipping, and more flavor choices. You might be disappointed with the L88B battery life gives about 30 mins or so of continuous use before it needs charging, but it's small like a regular cig, and you get the PCC with the Volcano kit, and 2 batteries, so you can swap them out between charges, and they do charge quick. They also will be releasing a 510 model (Magma) that also comes with a PCC very soon, so if you are not in any hurry, you might want to hold out for that one, and get larger carts w/ longer battery life (1-2 hours)

Blu is ok, not bad for beginners, prices are good but very slooooow to ship. If you are about to drop $60-$70 on a kit, you might also want to look at the Janty eGo. It has a very long lasting battery (8-10 hours) and comes with 2 batteries, 510 atomizer and charger, but no PCC (because of long battery life) I love my eGo, the battery lasts all day before I have to swap it out for the other one.

901 is a longer atomizer with it's own threading, so it only fits 901 parts or you can use an adapter to connect it to other parts. I like the 901, it gives good vapor and taste, but it is kind of long.

510 is a shorter atomizer that fits the L88B (blu/volcano) parts, but they do not use the same charger because 510 is -/+ when L88b is +/- (or visa verse) but you can put 510 atomizer on L88B battery, or L88B atomizer on 510 battery. Again you can also get adapters to let you interchange the 510 with other e cig parts.

Most people like the 510 over the L88B, it's relatively small, gives great vapor, has a good sized cartridge and is closer to the actual size of a cigarette than 901 which is more like a pen style. You can get the 510 in a manual button style, which lets you control how long your atomizer is on for. The blu/volcano are only automatic and can be touchy, go off in noisy environments, or in windy conditions.

I hope this helps you a bit.

I strongly recommend against the Blu; it's what I started with and by far the worst experience I've had.

I encourage you to think twice about some of the less expensive mods; consider the relative cost of replacing batteries in the two units, not to mention the battery life....

Otherwise, a Vapor King from Vapor4Life or the very inexpensive 510 starter kit mentioned above might be worth checking out!

speaking of mods a good one that I just got and really like is the Ikenvape.com laser pointer mod. It's $35 and you replace the batteries like you would a flash light etc... I don't know if they are in stock yet as I just got the last one (for the batch they had) but I know they are about to get more. If you don't want to spend much money, this is a good one to try.

there is nothing wrong with the blu. i got mine in 5 days. great customer service from my experience.

blu works just fine for what it is, I just have had very slow shipping from them, taken over 2 weeks just to process simple orders like extra battery or atomizers. I guess each person has different experiences with them. Volcano has a 24hr shipping guarantee that it is on the way pretty much as soon as you place your order. I get my parts from them in 3-4 days.

You must be lucky! It took them 4 days to ship my order and 5 days to get here for my starter kit. About as bad on my last (and final!) order. I don't live in the middle of nowhere or anything!

So far, I've ordered from 5 different places, and have gotten terrific service (same day shipping, prompt email notification of order confirm/order shipped, got here within 2 days every time) from both Vapor4Life.com and myPVShop.com

...

As an intro to PV I suppose it could have been worse, but I think going from a Penstyle to a Blu is a huge step backwards.

Just my opinion though, everyone's experience is different of course!!! :)

The best advice I can give, is do as much reading here in the forum as you can about the different models, and then decide. I have spent WAY too much money trying out various ecigs (look at my signature) before I started to figure out what worked best for me. I'm not saying you might be that indecisive, but the more you learn the better choices you will make.

I LOVE My Vapor King, and would highly recommend it.

I use the auto batteries, but there is a risk of them dying if liquid gets in (can be cleaned out but not always), so I guess Manuals would be more reliable in that sense. Many of the VK kits come with a Passthrough, so you can always fall back on that so long as you have available USB power if a battery fails.

You can absolutely refill the cartomizers many times. Then you can boil them and fill them up some more! And it's super simple. It takes me about 15 seconds to refill mine, and they hold a good amount of juice.

Hope this helps..

I ordered my Kr808 from cigeasy, shipped fast and I am happy with it. They have a PCC kit for 49 but it was sold out when I ordered. The battery life is great tho, and I like the cartomizers(except for no flat tip option). The only thing is its pretty long compared to a blu. The 510 is good too, I prefer the size of it over the 808 but I didn't like having to top off all the time.

Also the 902 at Cigeasy is just the manual version of the 808.

I have tried a few ecigs over the past year, choice ecig, 901, 510, 801 and a personal mod I made for myself (which is awesome). But I just recieved my ScrewDriver not to long ago and I have to say hands down that it is THE best ecig/mod i believe you can get. Not only does it vape plumes for 24+ hours on a fresh battery but the construction of the thing is second to none, its not falling apart or breaking down anytime soon. Its very solid and you cant go wrong with the SD. I found myself falling off the wagon from time to time with everything else I have used, but now its not an issue, the SD saved me and it works when your drinking too, trust me I didnt need not one real cig and thats saying a lot for me! Good luck with your choice and hope what ever you decide on works out for you, but if you really want to stay off the cigs and have long battery life, go with the SD you will love it!

I heard that, I think this is the first thread ever where I've seen someone defend the Blu!

I have enough other gear, parts, juice, and confidence now that I'm ready to put my Blu away, never to be seen again... I intend to list it on classifieds, no charge, just pay shipping. I wouldn't even give it to a friend.

You know that's funny.... My wife asked me what to do with her Blu and for a second I said I can sell it in the classifieds...

Then I thought it would be wrong for me to sell that piece of junk to anyone.... I may do what you said and offer it up for free as long as they pay the shipping....

I'm really going back and forth on it! As I mentioned, I wouldn't even give it to a friend for fear they'd get frustrated and give up on eCigs after all my hard work convincing them to try! Having said that, just because I don't know someone, doesn't mean I want them to have a bad experience either!

Maybe find someone who already has a Blu, likes it, and just needs parts, and make sure someone like that gets it and not a newcomer.
