Looking for E-Cig, new to vaping

What's up guys. I really hope someone sees this thread and responds to it. I was hoping I'd be able to just google this and get a satisfying answer but all the posts I've looked into talk about things I am not familiar with.

So here is the deal. I smoke about 10 cigarettes a day. It may not sound like a lot but it's enough to make me feel like crap and I want to stop ASAP. I tried vaping before and it worked great keeping me away from cigarettes...until my ecig stopped working. I was hoping someone on this site could recommend something; preferably an all in one kind of package where everything (like the battery, atomizer, and cartridge) comes in one box. You might ask why. This is because I know close to nothing about vaping, and recommending some specific piece that goes with an assortment of other parts will leave me confused and most likely, disappointed with getting incompatible parts.

That being said I'm looking for an ecig that lasts long (won't break within a month or two) and gives a good throat hit. My budget only goes up to $200 so please keep that in mind.

I'm really in over my head here guys. Thanks in advance to anyone that responds.

You probably want an eGo type battery...

You can easily find starter kits from most retailers.

I would suggest looking for an eGo kit that comes with Vision Stardust clearomizers.

The reason for this is simple... it's dead simple to use.

Stardusts hold enough liquid to most likely get a light smoker like yourself through an entire day. To fill them you simply unscrew the mouth piece and fill it up. Then just screw the mouth piece back on and you have hours of vaping pleasure. They last quite a while too definitely a good value juice delivery system. Plus there are about 50 bazillion videos on YouTube showing how they work, its like an owners manual.

The ego battery is equally simple. It uses what has now become the defacto ecig standard connection (510) but also includes ego threading allowing it to accept all of the major juice delivery systems available(should you later decide to try something beyond the Stardust).... they also have great battery life in a relatively compact package.

Best part.... it won't be even close to $200... more like $50... and that would be a kit with 2 batteries, a couple stardusts and a charger..... at that price you might want to consider picking up an extra battery and some extra Stardusts.

I'm not sure of a specific website that carries the kit I'm describing, I don't buy from sites often... I do think that hitliquid.com carries it, but I buy from them in person since they are located 1 block from my house... if they don't have a kit, email them, they're very nice, very helpful and I'm sure they could put a package together for you, if you explain your needs and tell them what I recommend.

OH Yeah, you'll need to buy liquid.... should you go with hit liquid, I'm a huge fan of their Juicy Peach and also their Coffee flavors.

I agree about going with an eGo size battery. Also a simple, easy to use juice carrying device to put on top of it. I put together a nice beginner setup for a couple of new vapors a couple of days ago. I gave two options on similar batteries and two options for juice carrying devices (which should last for at least one month of use).

It requires ordering from two different vendors, but both are highly reputable ones recognized here on ECF and sell genuine brand-name products, not knockoff brands that are of lesser quality, for reasonable prices. I also provided a couple of e-juice vendors that sell sampler packs of their products.

This (click me) is what i just got for myself as i too just got into vaping and it has been working wonders for me.

Its an eGo battery as has been recommended here and its basically an all in one kit with a couple of batteries, clearomizers and sample juice(s). The site and customer service over there does a great job at holding your hand through everything. And its dead simple to pick out accessories cause they indicate on the page of everything all that its compatible with. Don't let the price scare you... just type in happy2013 at checkout and you get 25% discount on everything. With $200 to burn, I will advice you buy a couple of accessories and replacements for your replacements....

Greetings! I'm not up to the knowledge level as those who've already posted, but wanted to put in my 2¢. I'm new to ecigs too and bought a fairly expensive ecig kit that look exactly like a cigarette. It was a good system and it helped me kick the smoking habit. However, I noticed that as I used it it would quickly lose the level of juice flavor it had when it was freshly refilled with juice.

So I ended up buying an eGo system and some clearomizers not exactly like the ones mentioned above, but very similar. I don't have enough experience to say that eGo is supieror to other brands since I haven't tried other systems that may be available. What I can say is I find it vastly superior to the stuff I started vaping with. The difference in the amount of juice that a clearomizer (the see through tank in the pictures that others above have linked to) compared to the cartridges on the systems that look exactly like a cigarette was shocking to me.

Like you I find all the new (to me it's new) equipment and lingo a bit overwhelming. Don't let that discourage you though. It looks like you've been shown some good options to consider. I just don't want you to do like me and buy something that looks just like a cigarette and then within a month want to upgrade to a better setup. I did that and it was an expensive mistake! Regardless of the brand you choose if you're buying a starter kit consider one that uses a clearomizer. My vaping life is so much more enjoyable since I got this newest system from eGo that uses them.

I got my 900 mAh Volt X2 and X2 clearomizer along with two bottles of liquid from Smokeless Image shipped for a hair less than $45. Pic of my setup:

The battery comes with a long cord, since it's a passthrough battery (can use it while it's charging) you just have to get a USB wall charger (a few bucks from Walmart or something). I happened to have one laying around so it wasn't a problem for me. I was also a ~8 cig a day smoker, so I'll let you know that I only use around 1 mL of juice a day, so the 5mL sample bottles from Smokeless Image will last you a while!

I agree with the Ego. It was the one to get me off analogs. ALL others failed because of battery failure etc. I don't even crave analogs at all.

This would be very similar to what I recommend... the main difference being the "Twist" battery, which is a nice feature, but might over-complicate things if the OP really does want "Simple"

It's certainly something the OP may want in the future, once they're comfortable with Vaping from standard eGo batteries.

I bought this starter kit and received it a week ago and have since not craved a single analog. It's a great kit, you just have to order some e-liquid separate. This website has cheap prices on 30ml bottles for only 10 bucks. Haze is a very good e-liquid.

I'll chime in with the chorus and suggest the Ego as well. I started with the Ego-CE5 kit and some extra T2 cartos. I think I spent around $90 but that included some e-juice. I have to say thought that I loved vaping so much that within a month I dropped a little more than $200 on a Silver Bullet and a Liquidnator tank. I gave my wife the Ego because she won't vape if its too complicated. Not that she couldn't figure it out, she's scary smart, she just wouldn't jack with it. The Ego is real easy.

Having a heck of a time try to decide what starter kit to purchase. I have never been more undecided on making a purchase in my life. The more I research it seems the less I know. I believe I am on information over load just need to place and order. It’s not about the money I just don’t want to get started then not have what I will need and then I’ll be back on the cigs.

I hear ya, I have never researched anything more than the step into e-cigs and it just takes me round and round and round again. Got my first starter kit a little over 2 weeks ago (standard kit from Apollo) and it was great for a few days. Then it seemed like I was needing it more, refilling the cartos has left a lot to be desired...should have listened to the folks that say not to bother getting a cig-look-alike. I seem to have a tendency to overfill and make a mess. So back to the research I went, now I'm waiting for a basic ego/clearomizer kit to show up. Hope I can go at least a couple weeks before needing to upgrade that. Oh well, more upgrades = more back ups I guess.

From what I gather, the clearomizers used by the eGo battery are intended to be discarded after a certain amount of use. If this is true, I would like to know if there is a more permanent variant to the CE4 clearomizer that is compatible with the battery I'm using. Assuming this part doesn't exist I'm going to ask the next question. Is there a difference between using a clearomizer and an atomizer/catridge? And if I were to use an atomizer, would it have to be replaced on occasion?

The CE5 has a replaceable head. The Kanger T2/T3/MT3 are rebuildable as well. I'v had no problems with these.
