I use a volt on a daily basis and have done for a few months now. I can say they are well built, durable, great value for money and all round just awesome. The price difference doesn't reflect a decrease in performance/service. If you're looking for a kr808D-1 model, definately, the volt is the way to go.

However, take battery life into consideration. As great as they are, they're minis and will last 2 - 3 hours. If you get something like an ego or riva, you will get 6 hours+ at a time from one battery. If you're ok with smaller batteries and less battery life then go for it. 4 hours with me carrying two volts in my pocket gets me through my work day then I come home and rock my ego/box mod but still use the volts more. :D

Yes excellent choice and I recommend manual batteries so you can refill the cartos with less chance of damaging or killing your battery. Manuals also make it easier to get a good hit. You could also look at the Smokeless Image model. Only downside of their manuals is the button is very tiny and a bit recessed (but that may be good if you plan to keep them in a pants pocket)

I recommend the standard aka 78mm battery which makes a 120mm ecig. KR808D-1 (what these are) is a bit thicker than a cigarette - like all decent slim minis it is 9.2mm thick. It looks slimmest in dark colors.

You can use prefilled and blanks cartos from Vapor4Life, SmokelessImage Volt, Bloogplanet Maxxfusion, Halocigs G6 as well as other KR808D-1 threaded cartos. On manual batteries a DSE901 atomizer and drip tip can be used to test juices.

Good choice, a real 3.7v slim mini and the most popular and well-supported 2-piece ecig. For longer good performance out of each carto I recommend juices with 20% or less VG and I also use a couple of Vapor4Life Wow juices. You should be able to get 4-7 days use out of each carto.

I started with the Vapor4Life Vapor King (Kr8) in automatic. I had trouble with the cartomizers though. A lot of them didn't work. There's a thread here somewhere about how to fix that, but it put me off V4L. I ordered the Volt with manual batteries from Smokeless Image. I like the manuals much better. The button is small, and next time I need to buy batts I'll look for one with a bigger button, but I still like it better than the automatic battery. The best prefilled cartomizers I've gotten so far are from Bloogplanet - Maxx Fusion. I'm currently waiting for an ejuice order to arrive. I've been converted, I'm going to fill my own :)

Something we all learn here... Always listen to the mouse. ;)

I've had both a Volt and several Vapor Kings / Titans (V4L'd batteries) in the past. I second the suggestion of manuals so you can refill your cartos safely, without the risk of damage. I had a Volt first, then the VK's. I noticed that they both vape well for slim models, but V4L's Vapor Kings lasted me around 2-3 hours while the Volt usually ran steady at about 1.5.

Welcome to the ECF. Vape on, friend. :D

In my experience, both the volt and the bloog are pretty much the same thing voltage wise. The cartomizers also differ from the regular kr808 carts in that they have a horizontal coil at the bottom, instead of a vertical coil running through the middle. the volt and the bloog both run slightly lower in voltage which translates (for me) to a slightly burnt taste when running their carts on a regular kr808 batt which tends to start at 4.2 and go down. in summation, honestly... I use a bloog battery and bloog carts when i want to be a little less conspicuous, I love the vapor and flavor out of the setup, and it's the only penstyle I constantly go back to, and i have tried them all(i think)!
