I was thinking of getting a mod anyways sooner or later I just need to get my wife hooked first we watched a you tube of someone doing a review of a vampage vmod the brushed aluminum one and she says its to big and as I write this she says "I thought we were looking for e-cigs not something that is gigantic" so yeah maybe in the future ill be looking for a mod something with a tank on it not just a battery mod

Blu is one of the worse models on the market but heavily advertized unfortunately.

Being a heavy smoker, at a minimum, you will want a model with at least a 700+ mAh battery. That would put you in the eGo class and size. But there are better models than the ego in that class for a beginner. First, stick with manual batteries for better control, warmer vapor and safer. Three good beginner models are: E-Power 510, Kgo and Riva. They have better batteries than the ego but are no bigger in size. Here are some good suppliers:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - EGO E-Power

KGO kit 1100mAh by SLB

You might even want to consider the 5 volt E-Power which will give you warmer vapor and better throat hit. And start out with eliquid in the 24mg range.

Good Luck

+1 to the SLB KGO kit. I just bought one and really love it. Great price for the quality.

I will also say the kgo, great kit, nice strong battery.

Just remember in the long run u may spend more money by not buying a mod as the batteries like kgo's and egos can only be charged a certain amount of times before they need replaced. With a mod an 18650 battery will cost a lot less to replace than a kgo/ego type battery.

That is one of the big advantages in the ego category of the E-Power - it uses non-proprietary batteries that cost $4 where as an ego battery, that is weaker, costs $15.

E-Power, Kgo, Riva are the size of a sharpie pen - not really very big and there are thousands of woman on ECF that use them.

I believe the 555 term is actually a reference to a physical tobacco, although I can't swear to that. RY4 started as a name of a particular vendor's juice, and then a lot of people started replicating it, I think, or so I read somewhere around here (darned if I know where I read it, but it was on ECF somewhere).

The RY series is most known for RY4, which is a blend of tobacco/vanilla/caramel flavors and is a bit on the sweet side (but is also incredibly popular). RY3 is less sweet, RY2 even less so, and so on.

The RY in RY4 refers to the "Runyan" company which was started by the inventor of the personal vaporizer.

well thank you all for you suggestions and I really do mean thank you. you all have been a really big help in helping me start out on the cleaner side of living. i have decided to buy the KGO Mega Dual Coil Kit it is on order so i will have to wait patiently for it to come which will feel like forever does anybody know how long it takes for sweet-vapes to ship out their product? and i did go and buy like 6 6mil bottles of different flavors of eliquid at the 30mg nic strength and at 80/20 for now i do plan on buying a bottle of vegetable glycerin to mix with the flavor to mellow them out if need be and to make the supply last a little longer and i got a couple extra cartos for it but i did not have enough money to get some spare batts but that will be next check or maybe the one after

again thank you all for your help in getting a decent starter set up

I'm still in the new phase, and my suggestion is to buy more juice than you imagine you will need. Some will arrive and need steeping (at least if it tastes like something NO ONE could possibly like I'm assuming that's what it needs), some you just won't care for. Small quantities of a lot of juices from various suppliers would be my recommendation.

well thank you all again for taking the time out of your day to help me I will most likely get the kgo once I get paid now all I have to do is find a eliquid that my wife will like. any suggestions on vendor that have a large variety of flavors which does bring me to another question is there any difference is eliquid and if so what should I look for when purchasing from vendors

E-liquid is VERY subjective, but I wanted to hop in from a woman's point of view since you mentioned wife. I have the Inferno from Volcano, and Grape Escape is my daily. I also love Choconilla Haze now, but I didn't like it at first. I tried the haze again 3 or 4 days later and loved it. Anyway, the grape is not too strong but leaves a nice after-taste. A little stronger, in a good way, with clearomizers, but that's another story. If you're wanting the tobacco flavor, too (I don't), my guy mixes my grape with his Tobacco Pure, probably 2/3 grape and 1/3 tobacco. It leaves a bad after-taste in MY mouth that way, but I never liked the actual taste of cigarettes when I smoked. You'll shop around in the future, I'm sure, but just my opinion and experience. I've been juice shopping for 3 weeks and keep going back to my grape. Good luck and happy vaping!

yeah I already knew that im gonna have to shop around and next im going to go over to madvapes and try their stuff for sure and if anybody else would like to make a suggestion or tell us where they get their juices that would be greatly appreciated!

Give topshelfvapes.com a try. Good prices, fast shipping, and excellent juices...try the jersey pink drink (my favorite).

If you're wanting a tobacco flavor, hop over to avejuice.com. Boba's Bounty, Gorilla Juice, Havana Cigar, Hype (fruity) are all excellent juice.

For strictly fruit vapes, I like freedomsmokeusa.com's mango, kiwi, and blueberry coconut...if you like a minty vape, try their lucky leprechaun.

I will do that I like more of the tabacco and im thinking my wife is gonna like the fruit one better I don't know though she is picky

oh and another question does anybody know of any good menthol flavorings my mom is another one I am trying to convert she is a heavy smoker like 3pod smoker but she is willing if I can find a decent menthol she smoked gpc light menthol 100s for a long time before switching to ryo and she has tried the menthol from encore (came with my dads starter pack) but she says she don't like it its to "spearminty" and even if you don't know of a vendor that sells a good one I will be making my own juices in the near to not so near future so if anybody has a good recipe for a more realistic menthol that would be wonderful

btw thanks again for all the help

I think you should just start with a Lavatube. I first bought the Ego t then the Kgo and within 45 days of vaoing bought my lavatube and wish I had saved all the money I spet on the first 2 and just started with the LT rto begin with. So much better. Lots more vapor, stronger hit and because it's a variable voltage if youy don't want all that power and want to feel like you are vaping an Ego or Kgo sometimes you can do that too by turning down the voltage. But then you also have the power of up to 6 volts for those times you need it. I did like the Ego t and the Kgo but being I was a pretty heavy smoker too I needed more and the lavatube had that and for less than I paid for my Ego T. You can now get the Lavatube with the whole kit for under $60 shipped or $40 just for the PV. Sure some will say a Provari is better, and maybe it is, but it's also not $40. I wish I had skipped steps 1 and 2 and just got the lavatube to begin with. just my opinion. As for juices. i don't even want to go there or say how much I've spent trying to find juices I like. LOL Good Luck with whatever you try and congrats on the new baby. That was my reason for my husband and I wanting to quit too. My youngest is now 4 months and I've been smoke free for about 3. :)

Just jumping in here, so if I'm stepping on any toes I apologize. I vape predominantly tobacco juice, so much that when I fill up my carry case I can fit all my non tobacco juices in one or two pockets lol. I just wanted to suggest you check out vapor 4 life, they have a nice tobacco selection, and mom and pops vapor shop as they carry my current favorite tobacco juice.

On PV's, Lavatube is solid purchase if you're looking for VV (a good way to go), it's really popular with a lot of people. If you don't care about VV then I'd say check out one of the eGo/kGo/whateverGo's, with all the choices I have on my desk I still grab an eGo when I'm heading out for backup. That being said, my go to PV's are my homemade VV box (voltage indicator needs repairing lol) and my Maxi Roughstack V2 (3.7, 6, and 7.4 volts). If you're past experience is with Blu then you can only go up my friend.

I'd agree with Karla about the Lavatube.... Good VV device and inexpensive! Some people don't like the size of tube mods, but that's a personal preference. I can understand when I first started vaping, I wanted something that look and tasted like a cig... that quickly changed and I realized that cigarettes really taste like crap anyway.

Joyetech Ego-T was really the gold standard as far as 3.7v, quality entry Tank systems. 650 mAh battery should last you about 4-5 hours depending on how much you vape and 1000 mAh should last most people all day. They're a quality PV and should last you a long time and give you the TH, vapor production (depending on PG/VG concentration in juice) and satisfaction (depending on mg of nic). I'd also recommend Low Res attys on a 3.7v device.

ok so I got my Kgo today from sweet-vapes and I ordered 7 different flavors from them also and my first experience with the flavors are not so good I got traditional tobacco, menthol traditional tobacco, Hawaii punch, fudge brownie, mojito, green apple and skittles and they are a 80/20 30mg blend all of them and well to me I like the flavors all but the fudge brownie it was not very good it smells like a scratch and sniff sticker and tastes very similar to what I believe the sticker would taste like if you could get the flavor off the sticker and vape it but other then that I like the flavor of most of these my problem with them is they are harsh like its almost painful to smoke them sometimes and my wife actually cried her first hit from the kgo now this kgo came with the smoktech mega dual coil cartos and these things are a lot bigger then I realized and I am not liking them for trying flavors as they are to big to just try a flavor they are more for when you have found what you like

is there something I am doing wrong here i am pretty sure that it is not supposed to hurt when vaping i know i like some throat hit i would like more flavor out of these and less burn i am interested in finding out what i could do to remedy these as we are short on cash so i cant order and new flavors for a little while
