Ok, I see two methods. A) sand the paint on the side of the grand or B) use a copper wire from the kick to the negative.
Which one is more efficient? Is the copper wire safe? Should I use a 2c for protection, and will it fit?

The copper wire or copper/brass strip makes it much easier for the Kick Module to keep its ground. I was just about to give up on the Kick when I was just sanding the anodizing. Once I ran a copper wire ground, everything runs smoothly.

I use the eraser method to hold the kick in place and no ground wire...works great for me.
I use the brass strip method, very easy, very cheap, very secure.
Went to ACE Hardware and picked up a thin strip of brass, 18 inches long, .016 thick, 1 inch wide for $1.49. Cut the brass to fit length wise along the right inside wall of the mod next to the battery. (The brass is thin enough to cut easily with a pair of kitchen scissors used to cut up chicken, or any heavy duty scissors will work.)
With a piece of sandpaper or emory cloth simply sand bare a small area where the Kick ground spring will make contact. The pressure of the spring forces the brass strip against the bare spot.
Put a dab of Noalox on the bare area, (may not be necessary), place the brass strip against the mod wall, insert Kick with ground spring pressing against strip, insert battery and vape yourself into a coma.
No need to remove Kick to replace battery and the tension holds the Kick securely in place. Whole operation takes but a few minutes unless you slice yourself open while cutting strip... then add in extra time for emergency room visit.

I went with the insulated speaker wire method to ground my Kick in my Grand. It was easy and it worked, so I left well enough alone.
I was lazy- the silicone tip to a carto holds mine (when I use it)...but with VV Reo's I don't use my Kick much anymore.
