First you need to buy a kick which is around $45 and then you'll need a 18500 battery (I think) because the kick sits on top of the battery so the battery has to be small enough to allow for the kick. Since you have a metal grand you don't have to worry about grounding it.

I don't have one so I can't give you the pros & cons but since you have to remove it and use a screwdriver to adj the watts it was a no go for me.

man I'm tempted to get one... but it seems so complicated like having to mod the Grand itself. I'm reading people putting on "kick stands" what in the world is the purpose of that? The battery drainage seems like a deal breaker to me and I feel like I would much rather get a VV Grand in the future. If ONLY Rob would make a VV Grand that fits an 18650 battery, I would probably buy that right now.

It's really not complicated because the kick grounds to the body of the Grand. It's just a hassle to have to remove it to adjust the wattage and like you said it's a battery hog. I've never heard of a kickstand except for a motorcycle.

 Funny Terry!
The kickstand is just a piece of plastic (or eraser, and something else, but I can't remember all they ways it was built....oh ya, paper too.) designed to work as a shim/spacer that allows contact with the important parts while holding the kick firmly in place. Without it, it tended to just wiggle itself out of position and contact. Except for those who used the strip of aluminum or brass...that metal just added enough space to keep the kick in check.

I just use the silicone insert from a carto and wedge it up into the kick and it stays in place for me. It is finicky taking it in and out but I used to use a kick with my Mini 2.0 (18490) mod w/ an 18350 battery- worked great for about 20 minutes until the battery died but it was an awesome vape, especially with an RBA on top!! I have kicked the Grand too but with the RBA's allowing us to make our own coils LR (I like around 1.5ohms), there really is no need for a kick anymore- great vapor from the Grand straight on!!

Thanks Scott. If you made that, you did a really nice job. After Lisa explained what a kickstand was I remembered somebody posting a pic of an eraser holding the kick in place. What ever works I guess.

Send your address and I'll ship out within a month or two. I'm waiting on a shipment of erasers. Pink and pink are the choices. $294 will do. I'll wave the shipping charges. Make check payable to "Nerak." She needs some more mods.

I ran my kicked grand for 6 or 7 months will the eraser but at times I was losing the ground contact. A simple nudge of the kick would get it going again. I ended up running a wire from the grand spring to the ground wire of the kick and now it never loses contact. The eraser is still in my grand.

Perhaps you might be interested in the "Video Grand." $699 will get you one. Only plays The Andy Griffith Show.

I find when kicking my REO; it's all about the toss. Plus you don't want to be in an agitated state of mind.

Use a consistent toss that's not overly complicated and begins its descent somewhere in front of you at about the height of your head.

As it begins it's descent move back a little with your dominant leg and start your kick. By the time you make contact the REO will be a little below waist to knee height.

Using a consistent toss is the real key and I find I can kick my REO about the length of an average living room. I usually take the battery, 6ml bottle and atomizer off first but that's up to you:laugh:
