Looking for KR808 upgrade help please

Since I don't have enough posts to post in other sections maybe the mods will move this to the appropriate sub forum. ;-)

As with many I have started vaping with a starter kit. My choice was V2. It has worked fine to help me on my quest to quit analogs. Two weeks tobacco free. So far so good. But as with anything I am looking for something more. I just purchased the V2 Liquimax clearomizers and some liquid to try. Gotta say I love it. Being able to vape with reckless abandon is pretty coo. No worrying about carrying cartos and babying them. But now it is time for something a little better. I have been researching and it seems like there are different choices for clearomizers and batteries. So I have some questions and need some suggestions.

Let me just first say I am trying to keep things as simple as possible. I want to stay with the pen style batteries for ease of carrying. As far as the clearomizers I don't want to get into anything that I have to rebuild. Simple as possible. Fill and go and reuse as many times as possible.

-Clearomizers. Top or bottom coil??? And why???

I have looked at reviews, posts and feedback on the Volt CE3, Phoenix and M3 (I believe those come by several different names) and several others. One better than the other??? Looking for the most reliable, easy to use and clean.

-Battery. Want to stay pen style but need higher capacity and longer consistent life without going super long.

Volt??? Halo G6??? Other suggestions??? I thought about the V2 long. But it is very long. Would be almost 6" long with a clearomizer. I need something that will keep up with the heavier vaping that comes with the clearomizers. Trying to keep the ratio 1:1. Right now I am finding that I have to change my battery to keep up with my Lmax clearomizer.

I know many people suggest going to a 510 style set-up. But I want to keep everything uniform and still be able to use my V2 batteries as emergency back-ups. As I said I am trying to keep it simple and not turn this into an expensive and time consuming hobby. And don't want to start from scratch. vaping is serving a purpose To help me completely quit tobacco and eventually inhaling anything other than oxygen all together. I may jump up to a 650mAh battery and bigger tank for non public use eventually. But right now I am just sticking with what I know and have.

I will also add that I am not an extremely heavy vaper. Some days I have been able to go a whole day on one regular carto. But as I said I have a tendency to baby them. But I notice with the clearomizer and liquid I am taking bigger hits than I would with the regular cartos. I have also disciplined myself to follow the same rules or vaping that I did with smoking. Not in the house. Not in public places. Not around children. Etc....

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm a pretty new owner of the Halo G6, been using it pretty hard over the last week. Have to say it's been pretty impressive if you're sure you want to stay on the cigalike style. Flavors have been pretty tasty to me too, about the only one I didn't care for too much was Torque56. The menthols and HX3 were quite nice. The starter kit for Halo doesn't come with a PCC but they do offer one for (I think) like $29. The 2 batteries that came with mine were able to last me (and I'm a medium-heavy vaper/smoker) about 3-4 hours apiece. I don't baby my cartos either, but they have a soft silicone end-cap which is easy to take off with fingernails so you can top off/refill them. I got the 280 mAh 78mm ones, as I wanted the longer battery life and didn't care as much about the size. They offer a 65mm version that is 200 mAh as well as a pass-through option.

I haven't tried Smokeless Image, but they get good reviews. Smokeless Image also has a Volt Spinner which is like an eGo Twist/Vision Spinner. But 808 threaded, I believe. So that's an option if you're sure you don't want to get into things that are 510 threaded and tanks and clearos and things.

The reason why many people suggest the 510 threading over 808 is just compatibility. There simply aren't a lot of options for expansion with the 808 threading, so when/if you decide you wanted to get into more advanced mods or use tanks and clearomizers and all of that you are much more limited in your selection of suppliers you can get it from. Me personally I just decided to go 510 with my eGo's because I know that I'm going to be expanding later on into other mods and things like that.

I'll keep the Halo as a backup or for when I'm out and about, or pass it on to someone else to get them into vaping. I don't regret the purchase but as for me I don't see myself wanting to be staying with the 808 threading. You CAN do it, and use tanks that are 510 threaded but you have to muck about with adapters (cheap) but that could result in changes in appearance and performance that I'd rather not have. I don't mind having 2 chargers at the moment, I'm sure at some point I'll be passing the Halo system on to someone else, and it is a good system for a cigalike type.

Upgrade to a twist and carto tank or kanger. If you also buy a couple of 808 to 510 adapters you can still use your 808 batteries for back ups.

@HK: Yeah I understand about compatibility. That is what I have read. But as I stated I want to keep this as simple as possible. Not looking to build a huge collection or dump a ton of money into this. Another reason to quit analogs besides the obvious health reasons is the expense. Trying not to replace a very unhealthy expensive habit with a healthier but still expensive one. So ATM I just need to stick to what I have.

@eHuman: Noob alert. Outside of the adapters I have no idea what any of that is.

That's the main complaint with Mini Ecigs/ penstyle.

You could upgrade to a Volt Spinner but seeing as you're a light smoker it may be overkill. Your V2 fires at 3.7 volts. The Volt Spinner is variable voltage- fires from 3.3- 4.8 volts and is 808 threading. Can be bought in 650, 900 and 1300 mah.
Sizes top to bottom without a carto on it:
*650 mAh length- 93mm diameter- 14mm
*900 mAh 108mm*14mm
*1300 mAh 113mm*16.5mm

One thing I noticed with the top coil of the Lmax is that I have to try to keep it slightly tilted back to make sure the wicks stay wet. I assume that is necessary anyway. The downside is that sometimes I get a little liquid dripping into my mouth. Not fun. I take it with the bottom coil it is easier because you can keep it tilted slightly downward. As far as the warm vs cold vape I guess I can't really see how that would make a difference. maybe I am wrong.

I have thought about getting a 650mAh battery but I am not sure I want something that big. Looking mostly at the Volt X2. Typically what is the diameter of a regular pen style battery?? Want to try to compare how much bigger the 650mAh would be. Also trying to stay away from adjustable voltage batteries. As I said trying to keep it as simple as possible.

And is there really any advantage in any of the other pen style batteries over what I already have?? Are there any higher capacity batteries that don't add substantial length???

First of all, you are supposed to tilt and roll in between puffs, not during.

Second, since I vape reclining and do not like juice in my mouth (or, in the case of my ViVi Nova, leakage into the center tube)
I use <a="http://vapor-mania.com/BLASTER-Adjustable-Drip-Tips-p90.html" these> and they have the advantage that if I tilt the tip towards the button (I use my thumb) I can always find the button.

My roommate loves the M3's, but those will not work with the knuckleheads. I find them too short-lived and leaky, but my roommate washes hers daily and makes sure it is really clicked into place, and that is working for her with no leakage. I'm clumsier than she is.

I'd rather just keep changing the heads in the ViVi Nova. You don't have to rebuild them. I do when I have time but that's a pain and the heads are only about $2.50 each and last me about 10 days.

The variable voltage allows you to keep the vape good even as the temperature and air pressure change during the day and the coils start to get dirty, but if you don't want to spend the money, then keep 2 Novas in use and trade them daily, to clean the other one. If simplicity and NOT money is your only reason for avoiding VV, then I strongly recommend you get a Volt VV and just keep it set at 3.7 until the day you decide to try a little twisting. It's trivially easy. (Novas require an adaptor, and I have
found that you MUST use manual batteries, NOT automatic, when using 808's and adapters.

The 1100's and 1300's add a lot of extra length but really, I found that 900- mAh ego-style like X2's, and 650 Twists and Spinners, are all light and pretty short compared to long ones. They are about as thick as a Sharpie, which is much thinner than most permanent markers. But I had to get a little holster for them I think -- a small flashlight holster or, oddly,
To-Go Ware Bamboo Flatware Set : Experience Life -- I take out the flatware and put in the PV. This will hold all the way up to the 1300 size with a Nova on top.

Wow the Volt 320mAh is 78mm and the V2 380mAh is 110mm. And $10 cheaper. This might do the trick for a little added juice until I take the plunge to a 650.

i'm an 808 user and i'm also in the "keep it simple" category.
recommended clearomizers better than the V2's liquimax:

Volt/smokeless image has Nano Clearomizers which are pretty good and easy to fill

they are also available from other vendors.

they also have C3 clearomizers for 808 threading:

these have the best atomizers of the bunch but are a bit of a hassle to fill and the seals break down with use. though 5 for $10 still makes them a good deal.

smokeless image also has big 808 batteries if you want to go that route though with that said, when it comes to small cigarette type 808 batteries i've found V2 to have the best ones.
