Hello again everyone. Ten year smoker here who started on Blus and am now awaiting my first kit in the mail :) Anywho, my mom tried a blu of mine and really liked it. She is a 30+ year chain smoker and everyone in my family just kind of shakes their head and figures they won't change her and she will drop dead any moment as her mother and grandmother only lived until 60 (she is 60 herself now). She will definitely be the lady on those scary commercials smoking her cigarette through her throat hole. BUT her loving the blu gave me hope and I am excited for my kit to get here as well thinking she will try that and like it better than the Blu. I am thinking of buying her a kit and would like your recommendations. There are two I'm contemplating:

Kanger eVod Kit - Purple and this: eGo Q/K build your own kit

And yes I know I am risking throwing all that money down the tubes if she decides to stink with stinkys but I could use one as a back up for myself (or even use it as my go to and use my current one as the back up:)) So basically I'm not worried about spending the 50 or so bucks as I know it will be put to good use either way :)

I'm also open to any other suggestions as to another kit to get her, but not really looking to go any lower on the chain, per se, as I want it to atleast be an upgrade for myself if she does not like it. I'm also still looking for e-juice recommendations as I only have a few myself!

Thanks loves! Ya'll rock:headbang:

Someone will have to speak to the dual coil clearo in the eGo kit - I don't know much about them. I really don't think you can go wrong with that evod kit. Love my evod.

Dual coil will give you a hotter vapor, more vapor, and a strong throat hit. not really great for introducing somebody to vaping as they'll choke to death on the first drag. It also burns more juice and battery per drag.

Just thught about this as well...

If she loves the blu perhaps let her trial one of yours for a day or two and see if she cuts down on the stinkies. If so perhaps all she needs is a blu? Not everybody "needs" something bigger. Alot of people are content with cig-a-likes. Although there are better quality cig-a-likes then blu.

Congrats on the switch.... I would start your mom with a EGO starter with a 650mah pass thru battery. I would get her 2 batteries so she can use one while she charges the other. I would also get her easy to fill tanks such as the EGO Kanger EVOD. Plus the EVOD has a much better taste and much better Vapor. Its a Bottom Fed Coil, easy to change out and its less messy to fill. The CE4s and 5s can be a pain in the .... at times.

Depending on what brand she smokes (I understand that she is a chain smoker) I would start her with a 24mg but offer her different flavors. For instance my favorite fruit flavors are Juicy Grape (Taste like a hopped up Grape Jolly Rancher), Apple, Peach, you can also offer her some desert flavors to like Cherry cheese cake, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Carmel Apple.... Now I made my first juice order from an online vendor called The Vapor Room The Vapor Room.net | Vaporize Nicotine | E Cig Atomizers . They have a deal going on that for your first order you also get a free 15ml juice of your choice. Another place I order from is Mr. Vape Mr Vape Inc. Electronic Cigarettes . They have a helluva deal right now. 2 30ml juices for 17.99 excluding their Premium Juices. They have a very nice selection for this. Plus every time you order from them you get a free 3ml sample of your choice.

Hope this helps....

I have the exact kit from eastcoast with ego-k's 1100mah. Love it!! I have had no issues and I went to it after I had bought a Blu starter Kit. I have since bought 98% of my stuff from them. It really is a solid kit. I am getting a Vamo V3 for Christmas, But I am going to keep this kit around for out and about and traveling.

I maybe biased because I really like Eastcoast, but as a guy who owns the kit it's great. I use the iClear 16's all day everyday and have replaced the atomizers once in a month. They give a warm vape and I have had no problems with leaks. I personally like the warmth and the slightly rough throat hit. I was smoking full flavors and non filters before I switched, so to me it was a great transition....

That's my .02 :)

Take this with a grain of salt as I'm still a newbie but...

I've had much better luck with my evod than my iClear16 dual coil! The evod has been really solid, no problems at all.

I did like the vape on the dual coil, but the build quality seemed a lot more fragile. Started leaking in a place I can't fix the first time I changed the coil. User error most likely, but still, the evod is really solid and vapes well.

Good luck :), great thing to do for your Mom! Hope she like it!

Kanger EVOD's are really the strongest basic clearo on the market at the moment. Some people swear by iClear's but I see way more bad then good about them. And the bottom coil EVOD keeps the vapor a bit cooler which offers less throat hit(choke). But sometimes not enough TH is a bad thing too. but as much as your mom smokes I'd imagine she doesn't have much capacity left to feel TH anyways much like myself. I blast away on a hot coil with 24mg 100% PG Peach flavor and still get barely noticeable TH even with stock airflow holes on my clearomizer.

That was the kit I was looking at for myself! Mmmm...purple...but I digress.

I got my mom the cheap evod kit from FastTech (same as what you are looking at but not as well built, but it was only $22 https://www.fasttech.com/products/1390701 ), knowing that it would be a backup if she didn't go for it. She smoked for 40+ years but hasn't had a cigarette since the day it arrived and I showed her the ins and outs of it (almost 3 weeks now). I got her 24 mg Tobacco flavor that I really liked and she's been good to go.

So that kit, or if you go a cheaper route, with Evod tanks, I found to be the easiest.

Best of luck!

LOVE the EVOD!! Granted I'm a vaping rookie, but since it got this smoker of 22 years to quit, I will bang the tables for this thing all day :rickroll:!! Although, I will be moving to the Provari very soon because I'm a tech ..... and I'm saving an boatload of money from not smoking...

I think it's pretty tough to go wrong with an ego kit - it was the thing that really made the penny drop for me where vaping is concerned. I also tried out a 510, which was surprisingly decent and might do the trick if she's really fixed on a cigarette form factor (also very cost effective to get started, from what I can tell). My parents also smoke, and I'm trying to steer them gently towards something 510 based as they don't want something too big.

Dual coils are nice. Lots of vapor is good for the chain smokers of a certain vintage ;) Several family members who've been smoking for decades are making the switch. I've passed around some cig-likes, but they usually need more power. That's a nice setup I had my eye on it for a while, because of the foofie colors. As far as juice...hmmm. I mostly like mint. Creme de menthe from the vapor room & ultamint from Madvapes are my favorites. Good luck with your ma!

The liquid she gets is very important to making the switch. Make sure you know what kind of flavor and satisfaction she wants.

Johnson Creek's Red Oak line liquids are the flavors that go into Blu disposables and Blu kits. If she likes one of those flavors, go with JC. And honestly, start with the 1.8%/18mg strength and let her back down from there. The JC liquid has a 100% VG base, which masks throat hit and allows newbs to get the nic kick they want without coughing up a lung.

I absolutely destroyed 30ml of JC's Domestic tobacco flavor at 18mg in my first few weeks and it's one of the liquids I refuse to run out of, though I'm now using the 12mg strength.
