i've just recently gone to vaping to get off the analogs.
I thought i really wanted tobacco flavors.
It has turned out that i actually would prefer slightly menthol or slightly fruity in my vape.
(was smoking the Marlboro Southern Cut for last year and a half or so).
Of the Halo's tobacco pack -at 24mg- i enjoyed all but the Turkish (been mixing it and still can't really like it).
The Midnight Apple turns out to be my fave followed by Longhorn or Prime (can't quite decide).
Midnight Apple is like apple jolly rancher, with a touch of mild tobacco (a little airy-er than i'd like)
Longhorn is a mild and light sweet-ish tobacco flavor a touch of maple,
Prime is nutty-ish, but if i just ate something nutty, then it tastes like Lay's potato chips (yea, go figure)
and if i just ate potato chips, it tastes nutty, not peanutty, maybe like chestnutty.
(please note, tastes vary from person-to-person, and within one person as your taste buds and smell
return to normal)

Halo seems to me like it's good out of the mail - do not notice any change over 3 weeks or so.
I did refill with a 30mL Midnight Apple at 18mg just to try to get my nicotine down.
Im chain vaping it now! lol. and it's not harsh but still does have throat hit.

Further to this, i agree with you on what you mentioned about steeping ... it's for the birds.
If i gotta buy all my juice 4 weeks in advance, this vaping thing won't work.
Maybe in a year or two, i can have the patience to let juice steep/breathe.
But right now, when i need my nic and associated hand gestures,
i need it NOW!

Once you get your bearings on what you'd like, maybe go try some juice from Mount Baker Vapor
and mix your own. I did, trying to look for the perfect light apple and ended up finding something else i like.

Happy Vaping and Be Healthy.

Your tastebuds are going to change a lot. I bet whatever you like now you won't be vaping a year from now.

As far as steeping goes, not every juice needs to steep. Some of my favorites I vape ROOB, others get put up for a week or two or longer. I do get so tired of reading over and over again that such and such just arrived in the mail and it sucked. Wonder why?

I recently tried Dark Horse from HHV. It hits like a light cig, is fantastic right out of the mailbox & is a blend of cigarette/mild pipe tobacco flavors. Definitely worth a try. The pipe tobacco gives it more flavor than what you're used to with a straight up cig, but it's not the dark, strong, heavy flavors commonly associated with pipe tobacco.

Tobacco (and other) flavors are like drink flavors. Both are liquid bases. When someone labels a soft drink as "Iced Tea", if it's not made with tea bags it just might be a disappointment.

Tobacco flavors come in two types. One is made with actual tobacco leaves that are heated and the juices are withdrawn and the others (most) are made with pharmaceutical nicotine and flavors that are "just like tobacco" (but maybe not). WTA (whole tobacco alkaloids) make the real tasting stuff and might give you some of the things that satisfy the desire for a smoke.

I'd recommend Halo's tobacco sampler for around $25 or so for a start. Torque56 and Tribecca are my two favorites from the sampler.

I'm a Dekang Tobacco and RY4 fan, too. You can buy 50ml of either from Madvapes or Hoosierecig for $11 to $13. Everyone needs some Dekang and maybe some Hangsen around.

Lately, I've settled on Stormy's Vapor Cellar "Cloud Nine" juice for a daily vape. It's a mild tobacco flavor. I still vape Dekang and Hangsen back and forth with the Cloud Nine.

Lots of people search for the perfect Marlboro. Torque 56 from Halo just might be that. When I first vaped it, my initial impression was "just like standing in the smoking area at work!". Try it and see what you think ...

good suggestions so far! halo, bwb and ahlusion - I use all three…

I say you try a net and an absolute… you might love/hate them… I'd also throw Goodejuice in the equation as they have nets, absolutes and lab juices… bwb and ahulsion have net and absolutes too...

Funny... I was thinking about GEJ too, since Ahlusion and BWB were already mentioned. GJ Patriot is a fine of tobacco flavor and a great way to break into NET'S (naturally extracted tobacco)

Also, great recommendation on Dekang, but everyone should try DK Tab at least once. WARNING- DK Tab is highly addictive :)

I should have mentioned DK-TAB, too. It's definitely a juice for tobacco lovers. It supposedly stands for DeKang Tobacco American Blend, although there's another Dekang juice called Tobacco. DK-TAB was evidently first and is a standalone flavor. It's strange that such good juice can be so competitive in price, but that's a good thing for American vapers.

Dekang also has world class lab facilities. It's definitely not a fly-by-night organization.

I've got Halo's tobacco sampler on the way.

There should be several in that pack that you like. It's six 6ml samples in a nice tin that you can use as a catch all for vaping hardware. You mentioned needing flavor and throat hit. Higher nic levels like 24mg deliver the throat hit and a touch of bitterness that says Nicotine. As you descend down through the nic levels, a lot of that starts to go away. You can still get throat hit, but that little bitter under taste you got from smoking tobacco begins to be missed until you get used to it.

I'm transitioning down from 24mg just for general principles. I've been at 12mg for a while and the vape is noticeably more tame, so I had to go flavor searching again for something that was more satisfying. What I've found it that juices that used to knock my head off are much better at 12mg.

You might like Wyatt Earp and Cowboy from FreedomSmokeUSA. Here's a review.

And the vendor.

For where you are in your journey, I would say try at least one or two Hangsen flavors from Caterpillarvapes. You can try their Tab Blended (A DK-Tab replica), RY4, Highway, Flue Cured or whatever you may think looks good. They're only $2.99 a 10 mL with $2.99 shipping.

I will add the RY1 flavor to that list. Great tobacco flavor.

BTW everyone should take a look at the picture for USA mix...a cowboy riding a T-Rex!? That's pure awesome!
