Happy Saturday, everyone! I’m currently vaping on a SMOK T priv mod with the baby beast tank. I’m ok with the power and output of the device, but I’d like a tank with better flavor output, and a mod that isn’t glitchy. (My first T priv caught fire, and the store would only replace it with the same device) I’m not well versed in the mods and tanks that have come out in the past year, so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks :)

Man, I really feel for you, there are like a million devices out there, some good and some not so good. It is really tough figuring out what to buy.

I was using a Sigelei Fuchai 213W Plus TC mod with a Aspire Nautilus tank up until about a month ago, when I also decided to switch. I made the switch to a squonk RDA, which is a WOTOFO Recurve RDA with a Ohm Boy X Desire Rage Squonk mod. It is awfully big to carry around, but it is definitely a step up from my previous setup. Just my opinion, but I think RDA is the way to go if you are looking for flavor.

Other than that, I really don't have any good advice, wxcept be careful, it is a jungle out there. Good luck.

    It caught on fire??

Maybe an Innokin Proton for a mod. Excellent two battery mod with an easy to navigate menu and nice small size. For a tank for flavor and cloud, maybe one of the new mesh setups like the Freemax mesh pro or the Horizon Falcon.
I agree with Eskie on choice of mod and atomizer 100%.

I have a Proton and I love it, one of my favorite mods. I have Legend two and I absolutely love it, but you could probably fit two Protons inside the Legend, frankly. It's not a pocket friendly mod. I'm gonna stay out of the whole atomizer thing since I MTL vape.

Good luck, the good news is, it's all uphill from smok. I will say Crown Uwell users almost universally love it (especially the original, the 3 is said to be good buy less choices in coil availability.)

Yup caught on fire. Used the USB charger port as my external battery charger was missing. It started smoking and melted the batteries.

I have a crown 3 and a valeryian tank. I’ve bought multiple coils for the crown 3, but only used the ones the came with the valerian. By day 3, they leak juice out the bottom. I asked the store why and they weren’t sure, so I gave up on them. If anyone has any answers, I’d love to get use out of those tanks lol

Glad there were no injuries. That's a scary occurance and one we've all feared happening. Again Smok has lived up to its name.

No guarantee with anything you buy as weird one off events can occur (although not as frequently as the general consensus on Smok) but the stuff being recommended here should provide you with good performance and quality for your money.

Yes, no injuries. I panicked... undid the battery door on the bottom and chucked it in the kitchen sink in hopes if it exploded, it might contain it a bit lol. I’ll take a look at the reccs here! Thanks a lot :)

I've only used the original Crown tanks, so I can't comment too much about the Crown 3 or Valarian. I never went with those because I was so satisfied with the original. I don't know if these discussions will help you or not.

Flooding is a common occurrence in e-cigarettes. The definition of flooding is getting juice into the air passage of the tank. This can include any point between the mouth piece and the very bottom part that connects to the battery. Each tank has holes in that air passage, where the wicks passthrough. This is required for the device to work properly. Unfortunately, this opens up the possibility for flooding. The trick with flooding, is knowing how to avoid it. I’ll explain a little more, but a few common causes for flooding a tank include: improper filling, over filling, pulling too hard when hitting the device, and the temperature can even play a role and/or damage.

Improper Filling: When filling your tank, you have to be careful not to get juice into the center tube of the tank. This center tube is the air passage. When you take a draw, air comes from the bottom of the tank, through the air passage and into your mouth. If you get juice into this passage way, your tank is flooded.

Over Filling: If you over fill a tank (specifically a top coil like the ones that come with the starter kits and gift boxes), the wicks can become over saturated and just like a rain cloud, they will leak into the air passage. Once this happens, you have a flooded tank.

Pulling Too Hard: As I mentioned the wicks absorb the juice in the tank. As you pull on the device, you cause a vacuum effect that pulls juice into the wicks. If you pull too hard, you can pull in more juice then the coil can vaporize. If this happens, the juice leaks into the air passage and you have a flooded tank. Use a gentler draw technique while vaping.

Temperature: E-Juice is a viscous liquid. Which means that as it warms up, it will thin out. And in the opposite form, it will thicken when it gets cold. When it thins, it is more difficult for the wicks to hold back the thin juice. This usually causes the wicks to over saturate and, you guessed it, it will leak into the air passage and you have a flooded tank.

Damage: There are o-rings and gaskets used that can wear out with usage. If certain ones fail or get lost, leaking will occur, in turn flooding the air passage and causing you to have a flooded tank. Other than accidentally losing something, damage can occur when its carried in a purse or a pocket or by over tightening the tank to the battery. Over tightening is a very common cause of leaking due to the damage it creates.

I got a smoant charon mini recently and its stunning.
The only problem i've had with it, which really isnt a problem, unless you are me.
The battery door moves, slightly, really slightly but you notice it if you are sensitive llama.
Also the fire button cannot be pressed from the bottom part of it, middle and top works though.

Otherwise its great, hits fast, is accurate, cheap and looks good.

Ive seen posts where people ripped thr chip out of (insert SMOK mod here) and found capacitors missimg and possibly other components on the chips. Aswell as many horror stories of their mods catching fire.

You cant go wrong with a Smoant or Vaporesso. If you want to switch to RDAs Ive found the Drop RDA is a good balance of airflow control and flavor. If you wish to stick with drop in coils, Freemax Fireluke is a champ. Their .15 mesh coils last me a month without even cleaning.
